Where are we today ?
We had a plan to leave here tomorrow morning and head to Borrego Springs California. Boon dock there for two nights then head over to Holtville "Hot Springs" BLM and boon dock there for two nights. BUT the weather forecast is telling us, 70- 100 percent rain for those areas.
First rain we have seen since the ice storm back in Texas Dec 3rd 2013. Not really great camping in the desert with no sunshine and rain.
So we did a quick check and found we could get back into Desert Pools Resort (Desert Hot Springs California) for the 4 nights in question ($9:00 a night with full hookups), so we grabbed that. So nice to be flexible.
Today it was cool again but we had chores to do. Few groceries, laundry, dust vacuum, dump our sewage, check tires, etc.. and of course enjoy our books.
We have been here for a week only $10.00 a night and a very nice resort BUT, the road noise from I-10 is not really fun, so we moving away and probably never come back, been there, done that!
this is the interstate right behind us, lanes of 70mph traffic |
our coach from the Interstate |
Thats it for now, we are now in the process of heading back east to Ontario only 48 days to get there and its a long drive, places to see along the way and hopefully warm weather too. more plans written in chalk.
Thanks for stopping on by for a peak glad to have you here.

Ohhhh, those California veggies look sooo good. Eager to get there and consume tons of them.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful fresh veggies here, love it.
DeleteIt's really hard to believe it is time for you to start back....my time does fly!
ReplyDeleteWe starting back slowly, still want to enjoy more warm weather yet.
DeleteToo bad about that road noise, but it's nice when you can just pack up and move to somewhere better.
ReplyDeleteSome campgrounds are better than others, we take them as they come.
DeleteWe use that chalk eraser often. I certainly would prefer not being out in the desert in the rain without sunshine too. Good choice on your part in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to change plans anytime, we thought it was a good choice too.
DeleteIsn't it nice that your home has a key that you can turn on and move when you want to?
ReplyDeleteThat's what we love about our house, completely portable.
DeleteWe have been in the desert during a terrible storm with very high winds. Not a nice place to be. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteWe agree, guess we get back there another time.
DeleteThe location is certainly convenient for a short stay, but that road noise would drive me 'round the bend. Time to move on!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, hit the road and away we go.
DeleteNIce to be flexible. Your weather there is still much better than back home so just relax and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of relaxing and enjoying to do before we get back home.
DeleteSo many RV parks seem to be located beside either highways, railway tracks or both. It is so nice to find one that has neither.
ReplyDeleteWe have always found that traveling without fixed routes and destinations gives us the flexibility we need to always find the best locations.
Like you said so many right by the hwy and train tracks, We take to good with the bad and enjoy them all.
Deleteonly 48 days. How will you make it?
ReplyDeleteVery slowly only 62 miles a day.
DeleteI'd chalk that up to experience.
ReplyDeleteThere ya go!
DeleteFor $9 a night with all the amenities ... I reckon I could take a bit of interstate racket... not too long for sure... traveling with your home is what being flexible is all about, to me. as always! goooood looking food!
ReplyDeleteWe like being flexible, and love eating too.
DeleteNo road noise for the next four days. Yippee!!!
The food looks great! The drought is just about to end in cali I think, but the storm systems are predicted to be violent. I hope you've gotten your RV checked out. Stay safe out there!
