Just hanging out enjoying a nice sunny day, here by the Colorado river.

Where are we today ?
Another great morning sunrise here today. Its not the desert but still nice and colorful. No mountains and a few trailers in the way, but still not too bad. We have full hook ups so that has to account for something. But it is kinda weird. We still conserve our water and electricity. And no water pump running when we turn on the taps.
A quick trip to Blythe California this morning, for a few groceries and back home to chat with Ron, Loree and Freddie.
Suzie giving Freddie a couple treats
Then a walkabout down by the Colorado river. All the riverfront sites are empty except one! This is not a Western horizon park anymore. It has been sold so is now open to the public. We booked it 3 months ago and got in here under our ROD membership so no overnight fees, (free for us) we got lucky. Waterfront sites are now premium sites another EXTRA $15.00 a night (premium sites) plus cable, plus internet, plus, 50 amp surcharge, no wonder these sites are empty, pretty pricey! Most of the rest of the campground is full.
river front sites
But a 2 minute walk and we can be on the river so no big deal for us. A very nice place to stay and the resort is under a change over mode.
Huge Bamboo, by the river
So we just puttered around later and got to enjoy some relaxing time reading our books. Think its been a while.
Then time to fire up our Weber Q, couple baked taters, mushrooms and onions in foil, fresh asparagus on the grill and very tasty prime ribs steak I picked up on sale this morning. Where else can you have a meal like this for less than $8.00 for two all inclusive. Ok, couple bucks for beer , but still under ten dollars total.
sure hit the spot tonight
We had thought about going for Karaoke tonight but Suzie has a bit of a cold and not really up to it. No problem better to stay home and get herself better, faster. She be brand new tomorrow.
Glad you took the time to take a peak today, the weather gets nicer here every day, only 65f today but close to 80 f tomorrow.

Do you put anything on your asparagus when you grill it? Looks yummy!

  3. It does take a bit getting used to hookups when you haven't had them for a while. I still find myself trying to conserve water. Looks like a great meal for a very low price.

  6. Glad we stopped paying for WHR last fall. So who owns the park now? FYI we did have ROD also.

    1. Well there was no point paying for it when you did not use it anymore. The Manthei Family have purchased the park. They own three in desert Hot springs plus this one. Waterfront sites $55.00 a night !

  8. These campgrounds are going to price themselves right out of business with those prices. You almost can get a hotel room cheaper than that! :cO

  9. It seems funny that they would price the lots so high, no one rents them... hard to believe. Enjoy the great weather out there!

    1. Membership parks work great and are always full. We will not pay these high prices, lots of other places to go.
