Where are we today ?
Last night the weather guessers got it right. It rained, and it rained all night, and poured this morning until shortly after 9 am. We were still in Cherry Valley Resort, Beaumont CA. and relocating back to Desert Hot Springs this morning.
The rain let up so we took the opportunity to secure our coach and hit the road before 10 am. By this time the highway was pretty well dry and we had a very strong tail wind and mostly down hill to Desert Hot Springs only 36 miles away. Seems like we used no fuel at all.

Major dust blowing in the open areas |
Such a small world that we travel in. Had a great time enjoying conversation and exchanging stories with these great people. Then hour is done time for dinner. Easy tonight, I had made a shepherd's pie the other day, just need to warm up in the oven (coulda done on the Weber Q but was such a windy day). Whipped up a nice tossed salad, and sure hit the spot.

No rain here today - nice and warm but it was windy all day. Looks like we're gonna get the rain tomorrow. Can't complain though 'cause haven't seen a drop of rain since I arrived in Arizona !! Love it !!
ReplyDeleteYou have been lucky just like us, I guess we are overdue. Keep enjoying the Q.
DeleteMaybe the weather guessers are wrong?
Welcome back! We're next door in 403
ReplyDeleteWe at 223.
DeleteWhen we're traveling we check the weather pretty close and especially when we know storms are coming. Glad you had perfect timing and could get out of there. When we have lots of road noise, we close our shades and try to pretend it's the sound of waves instead of traffic. That doesn't always work though.
ReplyDeleteThe road noise was not too bad inside, but we like to site outside to read and chat, almost impossible.
DeleteI wouldn't want to be driving in 65 mph winds...ever! I don't even like sitting still in them.
ReplyDeleteDid not even notice the wind hardly until we got off 1-10 heading north, but only for a mile or so.
DeleteOur site is pretty sheltered so not too bad.
You made a good decision. Let's hope that things don't get as bad as is forecast.
ReplyDeleteWe think so too better here than in the middle of the desert, so far so good.
DeleteWelcome back to DHS. When the weather turns to rain and wind, it's pretty handy to have power and other services. batten down the hatches.....as the weather prognosticators are forecasting more volume of rain in the days ahead.
ReplyDeleteServices is good, with this weather front coming in.
