Down the road to Desert Hot Springs Ca. smog is in the air and met fellow Bloggers, how cool is that?

Where are we today ?
Early to rise as usual, coffees, computing and walkabouts, Anxious to hit the road again. By 8:30 am we are ready to go, said so long to our neighbors and Ron, Lorree not mobile yet, see you guys on down the road.
122 miles today
On to I-10 just cruising on down the road enjoying our satellite radio tunes.
Getting close to Indio and Palm springs area we can notice the smog coming through Banning Pass from Los Angeles. Not dust but smog.
Thats smog from LA
Shortly after 11 am (12 0'clock California time) we arrived at Catalina Spa. Been here a few times and enjoy this resort. Picked our site got all set up and called fellow rv'ers. That we arranged to finally meet after a few years following each others blogs.
Suzie's book of choice today
A phone call had them stopping by here for a short visit, and meet each other. Rene and Jeanette. RvVoyageur. This blogging community is real amazing. They are from British Columbia Canada and we probably would not have met any other way than by our blogs.
Rene
Jeanette
Conversation flowed as it always does with fellow rv'ers. A short visit but better than none, they have things to do and really glad that they made time to stop by and meet us.
here is the shot all 4 of us together
After they headed on out to get stuff done we were able to enjoy our books for a bit on this awesome site we have. Shade we need today when then temps are over 90f.
nice afternoon shade
the view from our site
Now the adult pool and hot tub are only a few sites away so a quick soak in this amazing hot tub and swim a few laps of the pool sure made my day.
hug hot tub
thats me at the far end of the pool in the middle
Then back home to finish my book and prep supper.
Walk way behind the tree line, right behind us
Sun setting over Palm Springs mountains
moon rise the other way, we have it all
Weber Q fired up to grill a couple bone in pork chops, acorn squash and grilled taters. Baked a few extra taters for home fried potatoes at a later date.
Hit the spot today, tasty and nice moist chops
A perfect ending to a perfect day. New places, new faces and awesome weather.
Thanks for coming along for the journey, we had a fun day hope you did too!

  2. There sure are a lot of bloggers out there. It seems you find a way to meet plenty on your travels. Joe and Betty are at your park and Rick and Paulette not far away. I'm sure you're going to be plenty busy.

  4. George, i must confess ìm not much of a cook. When you grill your taters or zucchini do you brush them with olive oil? They look so good. Thanks, Becki

    1. You can brush them and spice them with olive oil, I just put in a small plastic bag, with a bit of oil and and spice, shakem up all nicely coated.

  11. George and Suzie, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit at your site yesterday afternoon. We raved at the lovely RVing stories - and other banter on life and RV living. We'll get to meet again, no doubt, as we collectively traipse around these south west desert areas. Enjoy your time at Catalina and your next Desert Hot Springs RV site too. All the best. Happy reading, Suzie.
