Generator acting up, got it fixed here in the Q

Where are we today ?
This morning we did not have an awesome sunrise that I caught so no pic today but it was still a great morning, almost.
We have been having issues with our generator lately and thought we would fire it up to see how its working. Started up, great ran for a couple minutes (not very well) and died. Hummph not good, would not start again. So whipped over to talk to Bob the generator guy to see if he could check it out. Come in at 10am.
So we secured our coach and away we went, Easy to to do as we are coming back to the same site again, 10 minutes we good to go and see BOB.
Bob's Generator in Quartzsite is a great place to go for generator service. We have dealt with him 2 years ago and he really knows his stuff. I would recommend him to everyone. Great service and a very friendly fellow. He has been in the business over 30 years.
quickly he diagnosed a faulty fuel pump
He set to work removing the old one and installing a new fuel pump. Not an easy job, sure glad it was him and not me. Move the genny and work on it blindly. Two hours later all was done and working like new. All we had to do was pay the bill. Very reasonable.
new fuel pump, with a fuel filter
to old one had no fuel filter!
Bob and Phil hard at it
Soon back to home dirt again, Easy setup. Dish there, patio mat there, bicycles and car there, just back in beside our mat and open the slide, easy peasy.
A bite to eat for lunch, pick some cash at the bank to pay them and back home to enjoy a great sunny afternoon.
cool car at the stoplight
On the way back to home dirt noticed the BIG TENT was coming down. Less than  a week since the show is over and all is gone away!
tent gone just the poles to go down
the view from our site, so peaceful
After a nice afternoon enjoying our books in the sun and no wind, time to fire up our Weber Q, to grill a marinated chicken kabobs I put together, onions, mushrooms, yellow peppers. Whipped up a rice pilaf and some garlic bread really hit the spot.
a nice sunset today
chicken and veggie kabob on the grill
worked good for us
That was another productive day. Got our genny fixed by BOB the pro here in Quartzisite and now all looks good. Lets hope all else is good before we leave the area. Feb 6th.
Thanks once again for stopping on by.

    1. You just need to talk him and know he is trustyworthy and reliable. His helper Phil loves working with him too, Bob always has a smile and never gets flustered.

  3. It's always nice to get a referral for good work at a good price. We'll keep him in mind should we need something fixed. Glad you got yours fixed without any hiccups.

  4. When we had our coach, I did a few things on the genny, like the 100 hour oil and filter change. Fuel filter though? I think it was right there up front, but I never had to go there. Looks like yours wasn't all that accessible. Wouldn't have been my cup of tea either. My neck hurts just looking at those guys.

    1. There is supposed to be two fuel filters one before the fuel pump (that was missing) and the one up front that you can see.
He had to re and re the pump by feel only could not see it.

  5. We had our Fantastic Fan replaced at Quality RV, the one in your photo. Is that where the diesel repair took place?

    1. Not sure about diesel, our coach and generator are gas. But I know he does diesel generators too.

  7. It's great that you could find someone you trust and that would quickly diagnose and fix the generator problem. You can continue to live out in the dirt without power........

    1. Yep, more desert dirt for a while longer. Bob diagnosed and quickly fixed a major oil leak in our genny two years ago too.
