Actually took time to go to the indoor walking track, and an early Valentines meal for us.

Where are we today ?
Again a nice early morning drive to Plattsville and the roads were pretty good. But still saw another car slide off the road into the ditch, they just don't slow down enough. At least no other vehicles involved and no one hurt.
Puttered around at home for a bit still tidying up and after Suzie and I had lunch she took her Dad to the hospital and I picked up a few groceries. When I noticed this real cool icicle below that looked like it had sprouted right out of the pavement in the parking lot. reminded me of a stalagmite that we have seen in some of the caves we explored down south.
kinda cool
Afterwards I went over to The Wilmot Rec Centre the same place where the hockey games are played here in New Hamburg. To check out the indoor track that they have there. Its free to use with 4 lanes 2 for walking, 1 for jogging and 1 for running. I like free to use and its only a 5 minute drive from here. Have not been getting much walking done here in the last month with the cold and snow (and don't much like walking in the snowmobile boots or wandering around stores or shopping malls). Its been a while so I started with an easy 12 laps,= 1 mile, much more than I have been doing lately. Felt good and invigorating, now I hope that I can get more walks in there at least until the snow is gone and it warms up when we can get back outside again.
They also have 3 nice indoors pools plus the 2 hockey arenas a very nice complex.

wonderful complex here
Now about 4:30 Suzie back home and we can take it easy a bit.
Picked up a dozen roses for Suzie, she loves Red roses, and a few of her favorite chocolates too.
We had decided to head out for an early Valentines meal tonight, beat the rush, and one of our favorite places when we are in the area, The Trail's Edge, excellent food and wonderful service, so why not?
this be the place
Started with a tasty appy of escargot that we shared, oh so tasty, one of our favourites
Then Suzie's special breaded pork schnitzel with a mushroom cream sauce, baked potato and veggies, excellent.
Now my craving is their chicken wings, veggies and blue cheese dip, and suicide dipping sauce, sure worked of me!
Now with an excellent quiet meal done we even visited with a few friends that happened to be here in this neighbourhood pub, nothing like great food and meeting up with some old friends too.
local mode to travel here in the winter
A busy day and fun meal sure did hit the spot. Not on our healthy eating plan, but we can do this on occasion right?
Thanks once again for taking a peak, just remember to keep warm enough, and share some heat with us.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this past Winter.

  1. Wish we had an indoor track around here! Been far too cold to enjoy outdoor walking.

  3. We had an indoor track where I worked in Dallas. Every quarter mile was marked off and many employees spent lunch and breaks walking on the tracks.

  7. Sending you two warm thoughts and happy wishes.
Glad you found a practical place to walk around for your exercise.
You have to break the routines once in a while or life would become dull.
Here's hoping our paths cross again this summer.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  8. As much as I love wings, I would have eaten the schnitzel - a big favorite.
