Where are we today ?
Again a nice early morning drive to Plattsville and the roads were pretty good. But still saw another car slide off the road into the ditch, they just don't slow down enough. At least no other vehicles involved and no one hurt.
Puttered around at home for a bit still tidying up and after Suzie and I had lunch she took her Dad to the hospital and I picked up a few groceries. When I noticed this real cool icicle below that looked like it had sprouted right out of the pavement in the parking lot. reminded me of a stalagmite that we have seen in some of the caves we explored down south.
kinda cool |
They also have 3 nice indoors pools plus the 2 hockey arenas a very nice complex.
wonderful complex here |
Picked up a dozen roses for Suzie, she loves Red roses, and a few of her favorite chocolates too.
We had decided to head out for an early Valentines meal tonight, beat the rush, and one of our favorite places when we are in the area, The Trail's Edge, excellent food and wonderful service, so why not?
this be the place |
Then Suzie's special breaded pork schnitzel with a mushroom cream sauce, baked potato and veggies, excellent.
Now my craving is their chicken wings, veggies and blue cheese dip, and suicide dipping sauce, sure worked of me!
Now with an excellent quiet meal done we even visited with a few friends that happened to be here in this neighbourhood pub, nothing like great food and meeting up with some old friends too.
local mode to travel here in the winter |
Thanks once again for taking a peak, just remember to keep warm enough, and share some heat with us.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this past Winter.
Wish we had an indoor track around here! Been far too cold to enjoy outdoor walking.
ReplyDeleteThis track is a great idea, and I will try to make a point of getting to it on a regular basis.
DeleteIndoor track is a great idea. But now you have no excuse not to exercise.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful roses. Lucky Suzie!
I was really missing my daily walks now can do them here, no excuse.
DeleteWe had an indoor track where I worked in Dallas. Every quarter mile was marked off and many employees spent lunch and breaks walking on the tracks.
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent idea for a work place. Great way to enjoy your breaks.
Deletelooks like you are making the best of it up there but when do you think you will be able to hit the road again?
ReplyDeleteHave no idea, but hopefully by May would be nice. Sooner would be better but not likely.
DeleteI sure wish I could send some of our spring like weather to you from Vancouver. Some of the trees in town are in bloom already. Nice looking pub grub!
ReplyDeleteI wish you could sen some too, but spring will soon be here for us, only 33 more days.
DeleteThat gym looks like a great place to walk... indoor track! wow! I'd love it. But then... I'd like the roses, the chocolates... and that wonderful dinner too. Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great place to walk here in the winter and like free.
DeleteThanks, Happy Valentines day to you as well.
Sending you two warm thoughts and happy wishes.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found a practical place to walk around for your exercise.
You have to break the routines once in a while or life would become dull.
Here's hoping our paths cross again this summer.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
No real routine here, it's one day at a time always something to be done or do!
DeleteAs much as I love wings, I would have eaten the schnitzel - a big favorite.
ReplyDeleteI love them both but the wings are what I was craving, and could not have both.
DeleteFree is my favorite four letter word. Did you eat that suicide sauce to help cut down on the winter chill? ;c)
ReplyDeleteThe suicide sauce yes actually had to get another dish of it, love that stuff.
DeleteWhat a great REC Centre. Nice to see you finding some special time together.
ReplyDeleteThe centre is wonderful and yes we do need some together time as you well know, helps to relieve some stress. And bond our relationship even more.
