Where are we today ?
Well we had some snow and wind overnight. And temps to day to -18c with a windchill -28 c (-18f) yep kinda chilly and we had 30 cm of snow (12 inches). So yes winter is still here.
At 7:30 am neighbor called and asked to use the snow blower, no problem, I opened the garage door and he went nuts, wants to go to work. Hmm, we not going anywhere for a while. Schools everywhere in the area are closed, Universities too, advising people to stay off the roads.

he cleared a path back home |

returning the snow blower |
Now at least the sun is up so I bundled up to head out and remove some snow, toasty warm.
|
this neighbor had to get gas for his snow blower, took his snow mobile to the gas station |
|
still a bit more to do |

view out the dining room window this morning |
Now most driveways are cleared, the road have been ploughed and the sun is shining, looks almost wonderful but still cold.
Suzie helping her Dad with a few things, hours on the phone with Bell Canada, trying to resolve issues. Customer service there is not great as most people know. Then back this afternoon she tried to set up a new email address for her dad, then I took over for another 3 hours (sure hate windows !) while she took her Dad to the hospital to visit her mom, and think most of the issues are taken care of.
Back home by 4:30 and we whipped up supper a tasty Basa fillet and a salad. In the oven, too cold to be outside with my Weber Q.

right out of the oven |

so tasty one of our favorite meals |
This day almost done just a get together with her siblings for a plan of action now.
Then home to crash and do it all over again tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by and if you have pics of warm sunny places would love to see them, kinda make us feel better even if we can't be there.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this past Winter.
Your pictures of cold, snowy places are a delight to those of us in warm, sunny ones.
ReplyDeleteFor our pictures, see merika-merika.blogspot.com :-)
Will check ya out, thanks.
DeleteKind of chilly? That is downright freezing in my book! Our daughter in Chardon, Ohio, got 2' from yesterday till today.
ReplyDeleteHope mom is home soon.
They said one foot but looks like more around here, no matter we just deal with is right? Add more layers of clothes.
DeleteIf that is a "bit" of snow, I'd hate to see what you'd call a heavy snow!!! :cO
ReplyDeleteWe have seen the heavy snow hope not to see it again anymore.
DeleteOh my! All that snow sure doesn't look like a fun place to be for any period of time. Hopefully, it'll go away soon and you'll be able to get outside and play.
ReplyDeleteI was playing outside today with the snow blower and the snow shovel, but would much rather be in shorts and t- shirts.
DeleteHow strange to see you in "covies" (coveralls) and a hooded jacket... hey... we're used to seeing you in that beat up cowboy hat... right now you sure don't look very southwestern ;-) but, heck... I'm here in Glen Rose wearing 2 wool sweaters, wool socks, jeans and still am cold. I better just look at you up there and quit complaining!
ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks Sharon , miss my beat up cowboy hat. But ya know spring and summer soon be here, right?
DeleteThis winter reminds you of what you have not missed these past several years. Keep warm. Hate to tell you this but it was 80 here in DHS today. I do enjoy looking at winter scenes though, while sitting here in the southwest US. Keep warm.
ReplyDeleteHey Glad to have you along, and we enjoy your wonderful pictures of great motorcycle rides.
DeleteCrocusses are up here in Langley, BC. Looks like you'll be in the deep freeze a while yet! Bummer.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Really Peter! Spring has sprung!
DeleteI want o be there now!
DeleteI think I have snow blower envy. Could have used one this morning, but I took my time.
ReplyDeleteIf you take your time, it will work, still took me 2 hours l together. If you lived across the road you could borrow this one.
DeleteOuch! You are much hardier than us George!
ReplyDeleteTheresa I think next winter will be your turn. Enjoy the winters while you can.
DeleteAnd did your neighbor get out to go to work? You're a nice guy to loan out your snow blower. Way too much snow for me. Sure hope everything works out and you can enjoy sunshine and shorts again.
ReplyDeleteHe did get out to work couple hours later, soon be summer right?
DeleteJeeze, I freezing here just looking at those pictures !!
ReplyDeleteI am sure it is much warmer there Denise. I go look at your pictures now.
DeleteYour right George...that is just a bit of snow, hardly enough to get worried about. After living 10 years up in Sudbury, I only got excited after it got to about 4 feet or so... stay warm!
ReplyDeleteWe too have seen much more over the years, thats why I said a bit. Even this is more than we want to experience.
DeleteYour pictures of the snow, make us very happy to be in Arizona.
ReplyDeleteYes, this is just a reminder of what you could be missing, no matter what the weather there still nicer than here.
DeleteI think you definitely have some snow - I like the shot out the window. You probably didn't need it, but nice to get a little reminder of why you drive to the southwest for winter.
ReplyDeleteThanks Larry.
DeleteJust a reality check for us.
It's al been said other than it could be worse. At least things are coming together bit by bit.
ReplyDeleteActually not really!
