Where are we today ?
-34C is -29 F |
So this afternoon Suzie took her Dad to the hospital to visit and I went to the indoor track and walked 3 miles today 36 laps, not real exciting but I did get some walking done, not a real walkabout but at least was warm and not slippery, better than nothing.
After researching some recipes I modified a few things and put together what I call "George's Waldorf Turkey Salad". Had some leftover Turkey breast from the other night done on our Weber Q and looking for something different. For the recipe you can click HERE and if that don't work email me or check the link to my Recipe Blog near the top of the right side bar. Made this in the morning so the flavors are be infused.
My version of Waldorf Turkey Salad |
That was it for a sunny cold day here in Ontario, did manage to get through it no problem. Hope y'all had a great one too!
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this past Winter.
We had snow then ice... now everything is crusted with ice on top. You know, George, if you were still here in Glen Rose you might think you were back in Canada.... it didn't get above 29 F today. I wish I had your great attitude, but I'll admit I've been complaining a lot. Do you ever use beets in your salads etc? I boiled some long enough to slip the skins off and get them fairly tender, but as a side dish they didn't really add much taste....
ReplyDeleteI like 29 f much better then -29f but you should have nicer weather before we do.
DeleteBeets, nope, that is one of the rare foods I do not care for at all.
I'm glad the sun is shining for you but you still have snow. It needs to go away.
ReplyDeleteYes it really does need to go away, and soon would be nice.
DeleteLooks like you have plenty of snow. I really like salads like that.
ReplyDeleteWe have more than our share of snow it can go away anytime.
DeleteIt was an excellent salad.
Hopefully the sale of the house will happen soon and then you'll be your old Snowbird self again for next winter.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Things are looking up.
DeleteThat sure would be nice!
Just looking at those temp numbers gives me the chills!!! :cO
ReplyDeleteOk how about some warmer pics?
DeleteWe live within the environments we find ourselves in....and you two are managing well. It is what it is! Just keep focused on the tasks at hand and before long, summer will find you and next winter will see you back in the desert.
