We finally here in the south west, and loving it. Desert dirt, sunshine and no humidity.

Where are we today ?
Another great nights sleep and up early as usual. Get the computing done, coffees made and drank it all, walkabouts as soon as the the sun rises. Love the early morning walkabouts.
Notice the flags  below by the entrance of this park. Arizona, USA and Canada. this is a snowbird park for sure in Benson.
the wash that runs through the park is dry as usual
We are all secured and off to the Super lube Plus in Benson. Have been going here every year since 2006 for a lube oil and filter on our coach. been our normal 3,000 miles since we left home and we like them here, very thorough and no appointments necessary.  They open at 8 am and we were there right on time. In and out 20 minutes and always do a great job. ( I watch them).  Hooked up the car and we heading west. Destination today is Pilot Knob rv resort just slightly west of Yuma Arizona.
great service from these guys
293 Miles today
Down the road through Tuscon. Piece of cake no slowdowns.
nice bridges  here too
Passed by Picacho Peak. We spent 3  Christmases there 2006,7 and 8 when we first hit the road and have a lot of good memories from that park, waved as we drove by. But we need to keep moving.
Picacho Peak
Next stop at the Flying J in Eloy AZ fuel up our coach here. Best price we have seen this year $2.249 a gallon, amazing!
Just down the road passed by Casa Grand have stayed here a few times as well in the past but just kept on going. Also waved to Jan and Bill have not met them yet but have been followers for quite a while, we enjoy their blog too.
passing by Casa Grande and wave at Jan and Bill
now I-8 is like I-10 desrt and wide open spaces
As we reach Yuma pulled into another Flying J and topped up our fuel, $2.60 a gallon here but still much cheaper than in California.
Arrived at Pilot Knob Resort around 2 pm, checked in and got the most amazing site here for 13 nights. Just missed Joe and Betty who left here earlier today. We met them last year maybe run into them in Desert Hotsprings after here.
Full hookups here facing west, afternoon sun on a corner lot, huge patio and no neighbors beside us. How can you beat that? Oh did I say $9:00  a night with our AOR membership. Love this park and the area too.
this our site
our own cactus garden as well
All set up enjoying our e-readers with an amazing view.
then we can enjoy our own "Happy Hour"
Awesome company too, Suzie !
while waiting for supper to cook on our Weber Q
we had to look at this
And tonight's supper is a Basa fillet (from home) grilled yellow peppers and a tasty salad. Back to meals that work really well for us.
thats it,  sure hit the spot
Finally here in the south west. Sunshine, blue skies, no humidity, arthritis pain gone, breathe easier, shorts t shirts (even Suzie), sandals and need to sit in the shade. Now thats the way we like it! About 79f today , thats why we are here.
No more long travels days until the spring. Just gonna wander about the desert from here to there and enjoy this great weather.
Thanks for coming along for the journey, think we will just take it easy for a while now.

  5. Far as I can look up, that third flag is neither Texas, Arizona, California, nor Baja. Unless you like searching flag images, the easiest way to find out what it is would be to go ask the office. Good that you've reached where you want to be. Weather here in the Florida Keys is awesome. We're 18 feet from the Atlantic ocean at high tide, and there's no noticeable humidity. Unlike our previous stop in Fort Lauderdale!

    1. The Flag on the left is and Arizona one, just flapping in the wind.
Enjoy the Keys while you are there.

  6. That park is very familiar to us too. We've stayed there several times and also at the BLM which surrounds it. The $2.24 price on the fuel is about the cheapest we've heard of. In the Phoenix area we've seen it at $2.35. Glad you made it and hope to connect with you in January -- someplace, sometime.
