Cool, drizzly then the sun came out! Wonderful.

Where are we today?
This morning overcast, cool and drizzly. But heck it's still about 60f and none of that white stuff. We had no plans anyway so just some walkabouts between rain drops here and there. Did some inside cleaning that needed to be done (perfect day for it) Then shortly after noon the clouds went away and the sun was shining.
Immediately stopped cleaning once the sun is shinning and outside we go. Whatever else needs to be done can wait for another cloudy day. More walkabouts, enjoying our e-readers in the shade a perfect afternoon. Watched our Roadrunner wander about the sites here.
Roadrunner on the fence
we know its the same one with the crooked tail feather
Not sure why but we have these Military choppers fly overhead 4-5 times a day , extremely loud, so much so that the windows in our coach rattle like never before.
these choppers are very loud
wonderful afternoon view
managed to catch a bit of a sunset,
before the clouds kicked in
Nothing much better for us than a quiet day, reading in the shade outside. Fresh air, sunshine and warm, temps. Love it!
Then  something else I enjoy whipping up supper. Another tasty salad, grilled yellow pepper, some cauliflower and onion in foil and a very special treat for us a smoked pork chop.
again, really hit the spot
Gotta love this weather, even if it is a tiny bit cool, and drizzly, but then the sun comes out and all is forgotten.
Thanks again for your visit, hope you had a wonderful day too!

  2. Hard to beat the Yuma record sunny days. Jeanette's favourite bird is the road runner.....so keep putting photos on the blog. Cool here in Las Vegas; about mid to high 50's. Similar weather temperatures to what we are going home to tomorrow. Vegas was fun.

  3. We had rain overnight but were certainly happy to see it move on out and the sun down in the Phoenix area. We'd still like a little more warmth but at 70 degrees we can't shouldn't complain too much!

    1. 70 degrees sure beats the temps back home below freezing.

    1. There is lots of Military in this area with the proving grounds just north of here.

    2. The Marines have been stationed there for probably close to 40 years. There is also a "bombing range" near Yuma used by Navy and Marine aircraft. Not far from Yuma, on the coast of Calif you will find Camp Pendleton, north and just outside of Oceanside California. It is either the largest or 2nd largest military base in the USA. I was stationed there from 1972-1974.

  11. If you've ever stayed at the fairground in Yuma you'd think they landed on your roof. We had a roadrunner that stayed on our patio for 3 or 4 years. It never was frightened of us and would try and come in the door. We never fed it.
