A wonderful quiet day then Christmas dinner with 125 of our closest friends?

Where are we today ?
Had a good night's sleep but outside our coach last night was a heck of a racket, think Santa must have hit a tree top or something close by. Our coach was shaking and the window awnings flapping (we had rolled up our patio awning) wow it was brutal. Or maybe that had something to do with the 30-40 mph plus winds. It's hard enough to navigate a motorhome in these high winds can't imagine trying to fly a sleigh pulled by reindeer. But Santa was here the cookies and milk were gone even some of our Cream Tequila (guess he needed it after that rough landing) He did leave some chocolate truffles under the tree this morning. Hope he made it to your place after here. Don't think you can get a DUI while flying with reindeer in a sleigh, maybe a FUI ?
Any who we enjoyed our coffees and a truffle, and first early morning walkabout caught another nice sunrise this morning. Then a couple more Indian Jones movies during this marathon.
came across some nice bright flowers in a bush
not sure what they are but look nice, on Christmas Day
Then for special christmas breakfast I made cinnamon French toast with real maple syrup and turkey bacon, that did the trick.
Next walkabout I followed this roadrunner up the path quite a long way, just far enough and quick enough hard to get a good picture of him/her.
my last sighting then was off into the desert.
I was out in the open here and wind was blowing the sand in my eyes so back into the protection of the sheltered sites in the resort.
Even made some Christmas phone calls talked to most of our members we could reach or left messages for the others, was a great relaxing day,
Our site was well protected from the cool north wind so we were able to enjoy reading outside for quite a while in the sun, between a few more walkabouts.
the palm trees swaying in the wind
At 3:30 we walked over meet up with Joe and Betty's  (fellow Bloggers) and walked to the upper clubhouse for Christmas Dinner with 125 of our closest friends, some we have not met yet. We purchased the tickets the other day, just in time before they sold out.
Betty and Joe such a super couple
It was a very filling and tasty meal all inclusive for only $10.00 each. Bone in Ham, Mashed taters, Gravy, sweet potato casserole, Vegetables, 3 salads, hot Cinnamon apples, fresh baked dinner roll, beverage and desert (a cupcake).
a huge plate full very good.
Of course we met another couple on the way that they knew so the six of enjoyed a wonderful Christmas dinner and shared stories (like most rver's do) for a couple hours. A fun time it was.
Then time to waddle back home, glad we walked, need to work off some of that great meal.
Think its time relax, computing for a bit and watch a movie.

  3. Over the years we have "weathered" a lot of strong winds coming down the Imperial Valley. Also heavy rainfalls and dust flying all around. It's part of being in the desert.

    1. The strong winds just happen out here and we have been through quit a few ourselves, but usually when we are camped in the desert. Thats what makes it so unique here.

  4. I think Santa sent the roadrunner on ahead of him to be sure you two were nice this year! Looks like you were rewarded for your good behavior with truffles. Yummmmmy!
