Moving on down the road, more boondocking and an amazing campsite, wildlife is a bonus.

Where are we today ?
What a great nights sleep we had and taking our time this morning before we hit the road. Got my one mile walkabout done by 8 am. Packed up a few things while Suzie had her shower, Our friends John and Barb were on their way to the Yuma area and did our "see ya laters".
We secured the coach then to the dump station, and refill our fresh water, into town top up or propane and fuel tank. Picked up Suzie hooked up the car and had lunch at 11:30 am.
Now heading on down the road only 71 miles to go so no rush.
gas $1.82 a gallon
Used only 13 gallons of gas for our genny in the last month and $8.00 propane for the last week not to bad at all!
on the road again
Turned right at the Yuma proving grounds heading into Imperial Dam LTVA.
Got here shortly after 1 o'clock. and found a nice spot. But no cell phone service, disconnect the car and cruised around for a while. Eventually we went to Quail hill and got pretty decent reception here. And an amazing campsite to boot ! Nobody close to us and an excellent view as well. really hard to beat this!
Quail hill
Set up here tilt the solar panel and below is the view from the roof.
We good to go here what an amazing spot we snagged. So quiet no road noise no noise at all! No generators, just the odd airplane overhead wow! We struck gold!
beautiful view
here we are just us
Shorts, t shirts and sandals, enjoy our  e books, love it !
Soon time to whip up supper. Tonight a couple pan fried Tilapia fillets, acorn squash on the Q and a salad= perfect .
good yes
a nice sunset to boot
After supper took our garbage to the dumpster. Looks like we had a dumpster guard here! Making sure we have a permit maybe?
he/she also has a few backups as well
That was our fun day always interesting things to see and do. Hope you had a fun day as well, Thanks for stopping  by. We plan on being here for 3 nights, but then who knows for sure? we don't.

Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..

  10. We enjoyed the Imperial Dam area. Lots to see and lots of hiking there. We had some burros greeting us at our spot last year. They really are cute.

  14. Love that spot, George. Looks fabulous. Worth seeking out the next time we are south, although who knows if we would be that lucky.

  15. I think you definitely have an uncrowded spot. For some reason gas out that way always appears to be higher - reg is $1.59 here.

    1. Love it here, we find the gas prices vary all over California over $3.00 a gallon.
