Where are we today ?
What can I say just another great day. No plans just let the day unfold. Early morning walkabout new places to explore is just wonderful. Got over a mile done then home by 8 am.
|
so peaceful here |
|
down by the canal over the berm |
|
Heading home this burro watching me |
|
need solar?they have it here |
Cruising around this area some many nice places to camp here.
|
washrooms and cold showers |
A drive across the dam you can dry camp here in a parking lot
for $15.00 a night. Not sure why because we can camp where we are for $40.00 for 14 days and other LTVA areas as well, same permit we had in Quartzsite and many other areas.
Back home again the burros like this trailer behind us,
|
Looks like mom and 2 kids |
Then at 10 am we drove down to the thrift store here by the Christian Centre. About a 1/2 mile away to check it out
|
Propane sold here |
|
thrift store with lots bargoons |
Now home for lunch and putter around for a while. I am having an issue with the lights on our towed. Check things out tested and fooled with this for a couple hours, partly working but not all done. Gotta sleep on it some more to see if I can come up with a solution. Yes the ground wire is good seems to be a problem in the coach somewhere. This could be a nightmare.
That's it, time to relax, have a shower and get some quality reading time in the shade enjoy this magnificent view.
Soon time to fire up our Weber Q 100. Grill another 5 lb chicken we picked up the other day. Good deal for only $3.93. we will get a lot of mileage out of this bird.
|
80 minutes of the Q = perfect ! |
|
add to a salad and we good to go, lots leftovers |
|
and another great desert sunset |
We heading out in the morning to Hot Springs Holtville CA LTVA for a few days in the morning, visit some friends and check out the Carrot Festival in Holtville CA as well.
That's it we done for the day. Thanks for stopping by.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..
What's that trailer doing right behind you? I thought you were all by yourselves up there. Not very nice of them to pull in so close to you with all of that empty space up there.
ReplyDeleteWe were in that area exactly one year ago today! http://www.travelwithkevinandruth.com/2015/02/a-great-camping-spot.html
Actually there is nobody there in that trailer just the burros.
DeleteCrikey ..... you're going to a CARROT festival??????? I LOVE carrots!!
ReplyDeleteWe have missed the Carrot festival every year so gonna try again this year. We love carrots too.
DeleteYou've got to watch where you step with all those burros around. Love the festivals and I'm sure you'll have a great time.
ReplyDeleteWe gonna check it out.
DeleteThe sunshine looks so inviting. I love the burros. No worries what so ever. You two have that in common...no worries, just enjoying the good life.
ReplyDeleteYep that's they way we like to be, "don't worry, be happy."
DeleteA carrot festival? Now that sounds interesting...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful day in the desert.
Yeah I am sure it will be.
DeleteI'm a map-a-holic so I've been off seeing where you are on a map then Google Earth and when you move, I'll get to do it again. Looks like a fine place to hang out.
ReplyDeleteLots of wonderful places in the southwest, wilderness is what we enjoy.
Deleteno cities and not many restaurants.
Burrows love carrots. Bring some back for them.
ReplyDeleteWe not coming back here or we would.
DeleteDo those burros bray? Alonzo, a burro that lives a couple miles from us (here in Lo de Marcos) brays and sometimes we hear him when we're walking in the mornings. Funny how sounds carry....
ReplyDeleteIn our 3 days there have never heard them at all. And as you can see they are pretty close.
