We made it through a very long day, getting things wrapped up.

Where are we today ?
Got up early put together the breakfast casserole for 30 people for brunch here. Whipped into town for a few things. Back here went to the 10 am church service then the casserole ready for 11:30. Everyone feed then the funeral home for 1: PM visitation started at 1:45 and was finally done by 5:15. We had a catered roast beef dinner down stairs and for the family. Visitation again started at 6:45 until 9 pm,  then we packed up and back here about 10 pm. a little over 500 visitors signed the register was non stop line up. Beatrice and Levi were very popular people in the community.
Time to relax for a bit and hit the hay. Back at it again tomorrow morning for the service.
Thanks for stopping in and was so nice to see some of my family and a some camping friends as well stop by as well.

  1. A very long day indeed. Tomorrow won't be any easier. Give Suzie a few extra hugs in the morning. Nothing we can do but send you positive thoughts via the Universe.

  5. Just the emotional roller coaster you must be in is exhausting enough let alone cooking for 30 people.

  7. Our sincere condolences to both of you, most especially Suzie. As Tom and I both know it is never easy to lose a parent no matter how old we are or they are, even when it is expected. May knowing you have the prayers and support of family, friends, and each other help during this time and in the weeks to follow.
Take care of yourselves. We will keep Suzie, you, and your family in our prayers.

    Our sincere sympathy,
    Tom and Deb Duchaine

  8. My goodness! You fixed breakfast for 30 people! But then, that's the kind of folks you two are... Sounds like you have it all under control... often the busy-ness is good and allows you to grieve in private later. My thoughts continue to be with you...

  9. Definitely sounds like you've been busy. Even though the circumstances aren't what you want, I'm sure you enjoyed catching up with all the people you knew. Just having you around has probably been great support for your family. Sorry that you're having to go through this. I'm sure some moments are good and others not so good. Keep the chin up.
