Happy Valentine's Day to all of our followers out there. And what a great day it is. Temps to about 90f and no humidity, yep that's good. A little cooler in the shade, just perfect.
The usual early walkabouts 7am, is a good time perfect to wear shorts, today before it gets too warm. Then enjoy some reading outside in the shade and an early light lunch.
The party is from 1pm till 3 pm and bring a dessert, Yikes! A dessert party in the desert.
we ready to party
First live band was Pepe and Sue, they were excellent as were the 3-4 other bands as well. We had 3 hours of nonstop music, food and dancing.
love Claudia's hair
we snagged a shady spot early on
oh and desserts galore
Pepe,  Sue and others
electricity  supplied by solar of course
about 100 people attended from my last count
The couple organizing this function celebrating their 50th anniversary, she is known as Snoopy.
another couple celebrating 46 years
nice dance floor, large blue tarp
Then the desserts way to many choices, something we normally don't do. But no other choices. Glad we brought small plates had a few samples.
then a healthier dessert after dessert
Next group was accordions doing the umbrella dance was fun for all.
accordion music was wonderful
Then these guys played some more awesome music CCR and the twist etc. got people up dancing even more.  We got up a couple times as well.
The music went till 4 pm but our large group decided it was 3:45 time for our Happy hour, So back we went. Chat for a while discuss some plans and swap stories. Always fun times with these guys.
Just before 5 we called it quits and home to fire up our Weber Q, before it gets too dark. Not really too hungry so tonight just a tasty salmon burger hit the spot.
nice light supper
And just as the burgers were done we enjoyed another wonderful desert sunset.
Now that was a wonderful Valentine's day for us here. Hope you enjoyed yours as well wherever you are.
          Thanks for stopping by again.

  2. We went to a dessert get together once. Everyone ate so much, we all left with a headache...too much sugar.

    1. I had just a small sample of things, Suzie too, so we were good. We don't care much for dessert so were safe that way.

    1. To the tune of the Happy Wanderer everyone had an umbrella and followed the leader, no explanation before the dance but that's the way it was. Everyone had fun.
