Where are we today ?
Last night we had some wonderful heavy rain showers and at times sounded like hail for a few minutes. But then just rain, thunder and lighting such a great light show we had !
Then off to bed the rain on the roof so calming and the wind rocking us to sleep.
We have a plan today at 7:30 I whipped into town got laundry done home at 8:20 am. Then over to Blythe to top up supplies home by 10 am. We plan to head out tomorrow.
With the heavy rain last night a few washes had water in them, like the 2 pics below.
The strong winds blowin all around us and dust most everywhere. But we like this area not dusty at all, its over there.dust there but not here |
Happy hour at John and Barb's inside. Now overcast and still windy. They heading out tomorrow as well. We both heading south but to different places. No doubt we will meet up again.
Home to whip up supper. My version of Chicken Cacciatore with rice click HERE was very tasty ! Ok maybe a stir fry but was good...
Added a salad and sure hit the spot.
Whatever the weather here we love it. Always nice for a change of pace and sure beats what we could have back home. It will get warmer soon and then quite hot before we begin that journey north.

Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..
We only had a few drops of rain here in Yuma but the wind gusts were pretty strong. Looks like a great week ahead. Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteYep its getting better by the day now.
DeleteWe've been lucky where we are for what we are doing. East of Sarnia has not been this lucky.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Thats good.
DeleteSo where are you headed next? I've had a change of plans due to my altitude sickness I got in Flagstaff. Got a scrip from my doc back home, but the best treatment is to go to a lower elevation. So I'm headed to Henderson, NV to visit an old friend. Who knows we could cross paths again. I would like that. Check out my most recent blog post about eating on the road. Hope to see you again.
ReplyDeleteWell we hope to be moving every 3-4 days over to Borrego Springs, Southern California thej back to the Yuma area for a couple weeks until the end of the month.
DeleteThat would be fun George.
Sometimes the rain sure does pelt the top of the RV but at night when you're sleeping, it sounds nice. Well, it does if it's not too hard. Stay safe and stay out of that wind.
ReplyDeleteThe wind is going away now so should be even better now.
DeleteI was talking to a women yesterday about an hour north of Phoenix and she said it was snowing there - maybe the same system that brought you rain. Supper looks delicious and I can't remember if we ever made Cacciatore or not. When you were in Abbeville, did you make it over to the Conrad rice mill in New Iberia - they have a special brown rice grown only for them.
ReplyDeleteAn easy one pan meal tonight, with rice instead of pasta.
DeleteNo we did not only 4 days there at Betty's Rv park, Tabasco factory and a Cajun Jam session at Calvin Touchet's Bar in Maurice LA.
I like one dish meals, especially when boon docking. We didn't have any rain here.
ReplyDeleteWe do too, either one dish meals or on our Weber Q works great for us as we frequently boondocking.
DeleteWith the temperatures rising, you should find some heat in Borrego Springs.....although at higher elevations than Palm Springs.
ReplyDeleteThat will just suit us fine, the weather forecast is looking good so far.
DeleteYou two always have such a positive attitude no matter what the weather is. I think that is what I like most about you two! Great job.
ReplyDeleteThanks, thats the best way to look at life, works for us.
DeleteYour one dish meals inspire me... I do have a 4 burner (3 work) stove here (no over) but it has a huge flat grill in the middle. You'd do well here... even without your Weber Q!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah I would have no problem with that at all.
