What a wonderful quiet night we had! Cold overnight but great for sleeping. Love this area we found at Imperial Dam. So many to choose from you just need to find one that suits your needs. Not bad for the $40.00 for 14 days dry camping and they do have dump stations, water and garbage disposal included. With that fee we can move to numerous LTVA (Long Term Visitor Areas ) through southern Arizona and California. The views and wide open spaces are amazing! Yep it can be busy but you can always find a quiet spot for yourself.

The sun is rising soon |
Hiked up over the berm in front of us and our coach is down there, so peaceful.

Then I took a ride in the car to explore some of this huge area. And up by Senator wash is the lake, beach camping ($15.00 a night).

more lake views |
Then Suzie and I took a ride over to Mittry Lake about 6 miles away. Its a free area but did not really appeal to us. There was afire there recently and was pretty barron.

boat launch ramp at Mittry lake, nice if you have a boat |
Back home for lunch a few more walkabouts and enjoy the afternoon in the shade enjoying our e-readers.
|
love our view |
It was so nice out I even trimmed my hair and beard, with Suzie;s help doing the final touch ups.
Then you know the routine time for supper. Tonight a couple chicken Bratwurst from Hermann MO.
Added a couple sweet peppers stuffed with cream cheese, and a bit of sauerkraut I had in the fridge to enjoy with our salad and rice crackers with garlic hummus.

sure hit the spot |
Then as supper was winding down, another nice Arizona desert sunset to wrap up the day
That was it for a day that just passed us by again, sure beats the alternative back home and inside most of the time all winter. Sunshine, warm weather and so quiet.
Glad that you came by today again for a visit, nice to hear from y'all.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..
For us 'quiet' is what it's all about:))
ReplyDeleteQuiet is wonderful and lots of space, gotta love it !
DeleteWe are looking forward to quiet but right now noisy with dropping temperatures.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
It will warm up in a couple of months.
DeleteWe've checked out Imperial Dam and Mittry Lake a few times. They are both so far out of town that we never stayed. We did like Imperial Dam but found at that time our cell strength (aka wifi) wasn't as strong as we'd liked. Maybe that part has changed though.
ReplyDeleteOur verizon wifi worked great everywhere, but the cell phone we had to drive around for a signal. We just stocked up with supplies, we used to live in the country so not used to living in town.
DeleteMittry Lake used to be nice, but the fire destroyed a lot. Problem there was bugs at least when camping there in March. Also the dirt road is very dusty and people coming there with their boats used to race along throwing up clouds of dust.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I heard, not a place we would go so many other nice areas to camp.
DeleteLooks like a nice area. I'm beginning to research spending some time in the SW next winter.
ReplyDeleteThere is some beautiful areas here.
DeleteSome of those sites look very nice... we, like you, love those remote places.
ReplyDeleteThey are very nice a remote is wonderful !
DeleteThank you George for the water tower! They are pretty awesome looking in that neck of the woods! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of interesting ones to see everywhere we go.
