80's Wow! Guess we should plan on February next year! We saw that pile as well and it triggered an intense internet search that yielded up a lot of truly interesting information about the sugar beet industry in the Imperial Valley. Cool stuff.

DeleteSo good you are feeling up to the hike. Any wild flowers peeking out? On the way to/from Julian off S3 at the Yaqui Pass parking lot there is an easy trail to the overlook. Sat here with the kids eating Apple Mountain Berry pie with our fingers, I forgot the forks! It's my all time favorite pie at Julian Pie Company, enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteNo wild flowers here yet, but keep and eye out.
