Heading east and north, very slowly. And another repair needed for our coach, oh pooh...

Where are we today ?
Pilot Knob Resort
clic on a pic to enlarge it
The usual up early walkabouts shortly after 6 am,, love this warm weather starting the day with shorts, and  we itching to move on down the road.
Walked by the hot spring and it's Tuesday the day the volunteers clean and sterilize the area. Hard at it they are.
Shortly after 8 am we ready to go and our friends are getting ready to get the free bus to the casino right from here.
waiting for the Casino bus
Not too far today only 40 miles but into a membership campground for 2 weeks . Full hookups $5.00 a night. More expensive than our $40.00 for 2 weeks in the desert but we enjoy it here and close to things we want to do.
love driving by the Imperial Sand Dunes
this be our turn off
the resort
we snagged a nice site with afternoon shade
Had an issue with our levelling jacks. As I was setting them up had smoke come from the controller. Told Suzie to turn off the power, grab my tools and fire extinguisher, just in case. Not a big  problem but a lotta smoke coming out. Hmm took it apart and for some reason a circuit board was fried.
We were going to go to the Canadian Snowbird Conference just down the road at the Casino but figured this was a bigger priority.
Research on this issue and found a service place in Yuma that will repair these things. Quick trip there and contacted a serviceman with all our info and he will get back to us in a day or so.
Then a couple hours reading in the shade 85f with a nice light breeze. Then our friends John and Barb dropped by for Happy Hour, they are dry camping in the desert right behind the resort. It's been a couple weeks since we saw them last in Quartzsite.
Of course a doggie fix for Suzie,
with Hank and Piper
John and Barb with Piper on her knee
While they were her I put a chicken on the Weber Q for tonight's supper. Picked up the other day for $4.50.
we will get few meals from this
and another pot of soup
love our Chicken
Missed the sunset tonight but am sure there will be lots more before we leave.
Here for 2 weeks and slowly making our way back east and north, only have 2 months to get there.
This is the weather we will have to tough it out for a while, yep think we can handle this !
Thanks for joining us today and if you in the area stop on by.

  2. We hope to head a little further south, we would like to check out the Borrego Springs area, before we also start slowly heading north and east. Until then enjoy the sunshine.

  3. Ah so near Vegas. I love that area. Hot in August when I was there. I was thinking about you last evening. Around 9.30 our time I was thinking you'd be about putting something on your weber q around then. Maybe as it was a whole chicken you cooked earlier. I like wondering what my blogger friends are up to then finding out later when I see their posts.

  4. Wow! Glad you could figure it out with the jacks. We've know quite a few folks who have had problems who had issues with the levels. Lots of luck in getting a quick, cheap fix!

  8. Our fingers are crossed for you also on the jack issue. Always seems to be something. I love the fact that the nights are still cool which makes for good sleeping. But makes me wonder what it's going to be like in May.

    1. We hope so as well. We have gone as far west as we want this year, not slowly wander back home.
