Where are we today ?
A bit more rain overnight and this morning until about 10 am the the sun snuck in and out for a while. Did get a nice walkabout before the it began to drizzle again off and on for a while.
I had a request the other day from Peter and Bea (American Traveler) and Bea's Blog (Sidewalk)to look up some friends of theirs from Ontario that spend the winter here at The Hot Spring LTVA, Peter and Bea are spending the winter on Campobello Island New Brunswick Canada this year. He described their rig and usually where they park so I hopped in the car a toured around to see if I could find them. And yes I did, knocked on the door and introduced myself, they invited me in and we chatted and chatted. Was so nice to meet them as we have a mutual friend. His request was to take their picture and post it on our Blog. And with their permission here it is Peter and Bea.

Ron waving good bye |
Now the sun is shining with some cloud cover here and there and a cool breeze, but still got a few walkabouts, almost 3 miles today between reading outside and stuff. Down the road 1/2 a mile to the GeoThermal Facility. Amazing opetation. You can search the internet and find so much information about how they can produce electricity from the hot underground water here, if you care. Too many links to post here.

very impressive |
Now to enjoy some outside reading for a bit more then inside to fire up the oven and whip a few snacks for Happy hour.

cut the crescent rolls to tiny pieces to wrap the weenies |
Yesterday I picked up a pack of these cocktail smokies, had a pack of Pillsbury Crescent rolls in the fridge so and very easy snack to make. Preheat the oven to 375f wrap up the weenies and in they go about 15 minutes until nicely browned.

I checked out Don's s solar system pretty major stuff here, 13 panels, 3 lithium Ion batteries top line controllers. Wow, we don't need that much. But hey it works for them.
Then home for supper, tonight a couple Fish and chip burgers, choose to cook inside as it was getting dark here by 5 pm. They are pan fried anyway. Add to our salad and we good to go.

Sure hit the spot tonight |
Another fun dessert day doing what we love. Stay away from the cold northern climate and the white stuff they call snow. Some new places and some new old faces, fun times too.
Glad you stopped by again and hope y'all enjoyed your day too.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..
We've had the same thing happen to us. Traveled to Wyoming in 08 only to run into someone from our own neighborhood that we didn't know.
ReplyDeleteThose snacks look like tasty treats.
We aren't seeing any white stuff just yet.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
We run into people everywhere. Such a small world.
DeleteSeeing everyone all bundled up in the West, I think we picked the right year to go east! It's a wonder 13 panels will fit on a rig. What is his total watts?
ReplyDeleteThe days are mostly pretty good, but typical cool nights once the sun begins to set.
DeleteHe has the panels everywhere including window awnings. Don't know total watts but would guess at least 1,200
It is overcasted and rainy here in the Rio Grande Valley also. Not the weather we had planned for this January.
ReplyDeleteI made that same appetizer two nights ago. Everyone loves them.
Maybe not perfect weather, but we are still enjoying it , much better than up north .
DeleteThey are always a great appetizer for a crowd, gone in no time.
I have to agree the weather may not be perfect all the time but it is still better then below zero any day. Life is good.
ReplyDeleteCelebrating the Dance
Yep agree with you, we do enjoy this area much more than others we have been to.
DeleteWow that is some solar setup. It would be nice if he'd leave some sunlight for the rest of us... :cD
ReplyDeleteIt is a huge setup but they use it all winter for many years.
DeleteEnough sunshine here for everybody.
Wish we were there too, George but the weather here really isn't too bad......so far! We've just enjoyed 3 days in a row of above 4C so pretty nice and when the sun shines, it is gorgeous. Able to get my walks in at lunch time. Stupid weather for sure, rain, snow, warmer, cold. It is Ontario!
ReplyDeleteYou are so far having pretty decent weather, but always better here.
DeleteYour turn will come for the southwest.
It's been a long time since I've seen a percolator like yours.
ReplyDeleteWe love that perk use it a lot when dry camping, makes much better coffee.
Deletenow in Bakersfield, CA - southern California - it's almost the same temperature as it is back home on the Pacific Coast of BC. What's with that? I'm certain it will heat up at some point though......at least our hopes are up for that.
ReplyDeleteIt will get better but we still love it anyway.
