Where are we today ?
More fun desert days and the weather here is perfect! What's not to like about this? Not humid, not hot, not crowded, no bugs and not expensive. Warm sunny days and cool nights. Not for everybody but it sure works for us. We will suffer with this weather no problem.
A nice early morning walkabout for a couple miles down by the canal and over by the Hot Spring Oasis was wonderful. Love the fresh morning air and exercise.
Was gonna go to the hot springs for a dip, but got involved with other things and the urge went away. I know I will get there before we leave the area.
Then about 8:30 I took a drive to El Centro to the Dollar Store, refill our top up card for the Verizon internet, and the back roads home through Holtville. A very nice country drive.

old railways trestle has seen better days |
Then the Holtville Water tower has always intrigued me. This water tower pic especially for you Patsy.
|
Holtville town square |
Then back to camp, love the fertile land here and all the crops they grow.
|
workers in the fields harvesting by hand |
Then home for a light lunch. Finished off the chicken noodle soup I made the other day, was so tasty. And with the sunshine time for shorts and sandals read outside in the sun made for a wonderful afternoon. Got a good 4 hours of this very warm weather.

Parked the car to block the annoying breeze |
|
this our view, not too bad at all |
Today at 3:30 Happy hour at Don and Aline's rig outside. Because the cloud cover was coming in cooled way down to 60f so we had to put on another layer to be sitting around in the shade. Really not bad at all. Lively conversation a few tasty snacks to share and plans to make, always a fun time.
|
lotsa nibbles before supper |
|
and of course doggies like to socialize too |
|
Nina got a nibble from Suzie |
Now we home to whip up supper. Tonight a couple Tomato, Basil, Mozzarella Chicken Bratwurst that we picked up at Swiss Sausage in Missouri.
Adding to that I shredded a potato we cooked the other night, pan fried with onions, cooked on our Weber Q added to our garden salad,
|
Very tasty again, love the sausage |
Nothing at all wrong with the weather here. Mostly warm days, cool nighst and usually very sunny. That's what we really enjoy.
Glad that y'all stopped by and hope you had an awesome day too.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..
You blokes sure live the life, aye? Those hot springs sure look inviting. Do they let 4 legged blokes like me swim there?
ReplyDeleteWe do like to enjoy life.
DeleteI imagine you could swim in the pond it is not fenced in, but the hot tubs are for people only and very hot.
Hey George, thank you for the picture of the tower! I love it! Also love the look of the hot springs. How brave would I have to be to swim in there? Let us know how deep it is. :)
ReplyDeleteYour welcome Patsy, I would not swim in the pond there is a no swimming sign, but the hot tubs are great for soaking.
DeleteI have seen people taking a swim in the Oasis pond.
ReplyDeleteI have too I guess they don't read the signs.
DeleteHard to believe the desert can be so productive when water is available. That weather is perfect for me but seems a little cool for your liking - from the jackets at happy hour, I'm surprised no one built a fire.
ReplyDeleteThe crops here are amazing with the irrigation they do.
Delete4 pm in the desert with overcast skies and a cool breeze the temps dropped to about 55f, so a jacket is nice. But very nice for most of the day. These guys rarely have a campfire seeing as they are in one spot all winter and Happy Hour everyday.
The sausage looks awesome, hope you brought enough to share :) So jealous of all that nice weather we are getting hammered on the coast. We enjoy a walk thru Felicity, when in your area going to/from Yuma.
ReplyDeleteThe sausage was awesome, have enough for one more meal.
DeleteWe did Felicity a few years ago, interesting.
Your weather is perfect...our is not! We have been under a flash flood warning everyday! It's not just raining, it's pouring!
ReplyDeleteLove your outside gatherings!
No complaints on the weather here. Mostly sunshine and perfect temperatures.
DeleteThe gatherings are fun, chatting, sharing information and telling stories, a few nibbles too.
You know what I love best, George? It's that we know so many folks who live very different styles of life... but nearly everyone (blog) I read, they are so happy with what they are doing and where they are in this life/world/season... you name it. How could it be better?
ReplyDeleteI don't think it can get any better, because we are living the life we want and enjoy every minute of it!
DeleteGreat idea using the car to block the wind.
ReplyDeleteIt works for us, there is always a way.
DeleteI am a faithful reader of your blog. One of the things I love about it is that you always say where you currently are. So many other blogs I subscribe to don't do that and I don't usually get to catch every post, so have no idea where they are. Maybe you could let others know that while at blogger fest. Thanks for letting us ride along with you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for following Kim appreciate your input. I have mentioned it to a few and some people don't want others to find them, we don't mind.
DeleteThank for riding along with us.
