Cold nights warm sunny days gotta love the desert. Genny all repaired we good to go, yippee!

Where are we today ?
Yep cool desert morning , but we have seen these in the past, to be expected here in the desert. But by 10:30 am into shorts a t-shirts again.
just to remind us what we missing
but the sun comes up and all is good
Morning drive about some vendors have nice lighting.
Then we secure the coach and over to RV Lifestyles  at 8:45 this morning to get our generator issue resolved. Had our furnace repaired here in December and really like their friendly service and reasonable prices.
this be the place
Automatic Transfer switch
ATS is toast
While in the shop Suzie enjoyed the waiting area. Free coffee and popcorn for breakfast. And of course reading here book.
our coach here and I was able to chat a bit with
the mechaniche really knows his stuff.
new ats to be installed
They had found a bad connection at the genny that caused the ATS to fail. New ATS very good price cheaper than Ebay. They actually worked on this job 4 hours and only charged us 2 hours labor. I know I was there.
So the ATS was  $189.00 and labor $200.00 and watching what Mark did I knew I could not have done the job with the tools and experience I have. Glad they got it done and now the Genny works just the way it should. Total $404.00 US dollars ($580, Canadian Dollars !) Expensive yes but this is our house, gotta have it working right.
That chore taken care of we stopped at the dump station to dump our sewage and top up our fresh water tank good to go for another week or so.
along Keuhn Dt more traffic on town
Dump station at La Posa south only 3 rigs ahead if us so went pretty quick, Next week will be a zoo here.
topping up our fresh water
Now back to "HOME DIRT " we call it here in the desert all set up by 2 pm. Picked up a few groceries in town and enjoyed our e-readers in the shade of our awning. Yes the sunshine here is very  intense !
Then fire up our Weber Q grill a couple turkey burgers to go with our salad , nice quick, easy and very tasty supper.
nice sunset to go with it too
yep was good
And of course reminding y'all of Bloggerfest  Sat Jan 23rd at La Posa south here in Quartzsite. Feel free to share this poster on your sites. The more the merrier. Looks like  Palamine and Bill and Jan will be there as well to give us a hand too. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys. It will be a fun afternoon !
Thanks again for stopping by and really hope you had an awesome day too

  1. You have bikes? You never talk about using them.

For that matter, we haven't used ours in the last two months so we can't talk.

I can't understand spending that kind of money to repair the on board generator. I would rather upgrade my solar and battery situation so that I don't need to use the generator at all. In fact, that's what we've done. Don't need the generator.

    1. Yep have bikes actually gonna get them off the rack today.
The generator has come in very handy a few times. Like when we have cloudy weather in Ontario or we get a heat wave when we dry camping ( camp awesome) and need to run the Air conditioners for a while. The 3 days when we were stranded at a Walmart for 3 days freezing rain sleet, 10f an inch of ice covering our rig, roads closed.
Even our friend that has 13 solar panels has a generator that he uses occasionally.

  3. We've had problems with our Automatic Transfer Switch too. Sure glad it was an easier fix than getting a new generator!

  4. You gotta have the genny in working conditions. It has always been like that...cold nights and warm sunny days. In Q we never had a warm night.

  6. So sorry we are going to miss the Blogger Fest. Would have been nice to meet some of the people whose lives I read about. We get there Thursday 28th to check out RVs (hopefully) and Friday to start our first Escapees Boot Camp in Congress.

  7. I'm sure you're glad to get the genny straightened out, owning an RV can be a bit expensive at times, but in the long run, there's no way I'd rather live. We consider our genny an essential piece of equipment on our MH. Have used it many times in both hot weather and cold weather when traveling. Solar panels are great but not the total answer to power needs. :c)

  9. Hi George, I'm a long time follower of your blog but never commented. I certainly appreciate your down to earth relaxed lifestyle and am very envious.
I don't read the blogs everyday and just catching up. I saw a couple days ago some discussion around the food you prepare and have to say I'm also a certified member of the Weber Q club. Best invention ever! I have not come close to preparing the variety of food you do and am very impressed what you do. I love the idea of the mat and have to get me one. I also need to confess that I often look closely at what's in the salads. Wow! Once or twice around the fridge and everybody into the 'pool' so to speak. What sort of dressing(s) do you use? I love your health-conscious menus and wish I had your discipline.
Enjoy the other 'Q' (meaning Quartzite). One of these years ....maybe. Still working full time. :-(
    Take Care out there. Dave.

    1. Thanks for the comment. Love the llfe style and glad you follow us Salad dressing is a simple 1/3 balsamic vineger and 2/3td extra virgin olive oil. Quite tasty and very healthy too.
      Works for us.
