We heading east, very slowly... enjoying this heat too much

Where are we today ?
Yuma Lakes resort
This morning we moving on down the road. Been here for a week and now can check out another membership campground just down the road. We like $10.00 a night fees. Yuma lakes resort, never been here before.
  A whole 21 miles today!
A nice short drive passing through great southern Arizona agricultural fields.
Below we can see the crops being harvested by hand.
canals by the roads for irrigatuion
We left about 10 AM and were all set up on our new site shortly after 11 AM. Love these short travel days.
all set up and ready for lunch
Very hot here so a walkabout to check out the shuffle board and the pool, just a few sites down from us.
The pool looked inviting, even got Suzie to join me (rare occasion !). Perfect temperature and so refreshing.
we even enjoyed reading our books on
the pool deck for a while
Back home we are cooled down. The weather guy says it is 86f here, our thermometer on the shady side says 102 F and it sure feels like it. But remember no humidity here so really not too bad.
this is the shady side of our coach,
sunny side , under the awning is 115f !
But hey we can deal with these temperatures, thats why we are here.
We did get a couple hours reading enjoying our books, then time to fire up our Weber Q.
Baby back ribs simmered in sauerkraut, taters in foil with onions, and a quick grill of broccoli sure hit the spot.
ribs ready to glaze
a couple minutes on the grill for brocolli,
and glaze the ribs
fall off the bone, sticky ribs, fresh bun, tasty sauerkraut,
and perfect grilled broccoli sure hit the spot
Just another fun day here in Arizona, enjoying this great weather as long as we can, before we head back on home still real cold there....
Hope you had a great day too, thanks for stopping  on by.

    1. We can always cool down, in the shade with a book or in the pool, hate being cold.

  2. Spring is around the corner and it's getting close to the time to meander towards home. Isn't it great when you can "meander" instead of having to rush?

  3. We liked the Yuma Lakes. Temperatures are starting to improve in Texas so you aren't going to have the nasty temperatures you saw on your way through a few months ago.

  5. Is 21 miles the least you've traveled in a day? I think once we went 9 miles... somewhere in Pennsylvania... can't remember why. Isn't it great to take your time?

    1. Our shortest travel day was in Desert Hot springs last month. 1.2 miles from Catalina Spa to Desert Pools resort.

  6. Having not been to southern AZ, I'm amazed at the amount of agriculture there. You folks sure eat well on the road. I like your short drives - I think 200 miles is my least.

    1. We have been on the road since '06 and enjoy our food.
So easy to make a nice meal when we take our time.

    1. We don't have a problem with short travel days. We do it as often as possible it only takes a few minutes to secure our coach and away we go.
