Book exchanges and found a new Saturday market in town.

Where are we today ?
Just sounding like a broken record here. Sunshine, hot days and cold nights, love it ! Night time temps in the mid 40's f good for sleeping, typical in Arizona. Now day time temps at this time of year are amazing! We love the heat.
9 am we head to the clubhouse for fresh baked, Pecan rolls or cinnamon rolls. Of course we choose the pecan rolls on the left and share one, so nice, hot and sticky!
oh so good, a rare treat for us.
Then into Benson to exchange some of our read books at our favorite book exchanges here. First store we got $19.50 credit and bought a bunch more here cost $11.95. She will not take all our books.
Then around the corner stopped at Marry Ann's. She will take all the rest of our books and got a $21.00 credit. picked out a bunch more and now we are good to go for a while longer.
Now we ended up with another 13 paperbacks that we love to read, no kindles for us yet. If I can't read my paperback outside in my chair I just don't read. I do have all kinds of free books on my computer, but it is just not the same for me.
our haul today
After leaving here just down the street we found a Saturday Marketplace right by the Benson Museum. Never knew it was here after all the years we have stopped in the Benson area. So just had to stop by and check it out.
Wander about for a while, chat with vendors an purchase a mini pecan pie with shortbread crust and tiny banana loaf with pecans, for some snibbles later on. Losta pecans in this area.
in the Benson Museum
Then back home for a light lunch and enjoy our books it the shade for a while.
just love the clear blue skies here
Now looking at the temperatures outside in the sun its pretty hot look below.
in the sun its brutal
in the shade much better, but remember no humidity
We do have a very light breeze so it is quite comfortable in the shade.
After a final Happy hour (for a few days) with our friends Rob and Pat I fired up our Weber Q to grill a couple marinated chicken kebobs I made, and grilled taters.
low and slow does it on our Weber Q
steamed a bit of broccoli with cheese, hit the spot
then another excellent Arizona sunset to wind down our day
Glad that you cared to drop on by again and hope you had a good day too.!

  6. Thanks for the heads up on the bookstores in Benson. We are always looking for good resale stores. If you are every in Houston, be sure to hit the Katy bookstore. We have never been in a nicer resale store.

  7. Just last night over dinner we were talking about the winter we just had, and since one of our dinner companions is a US citizen, there's always that possibility of buying a little spot in Arizona or wherever. Of course, then there's the summer heat to think of....
Not sure where those ideas will end up for them. We're not sure of our future plans either, for that matter. Wouldn't mind a little heat right about now though.

    1. There is some areas of Arizona with more moderate temperatures, but, it rarely gets above 95f here in Benson during the summer
