Where are we today ?
Whadda we doing today? Not a heck of a lot, because we don't have to.
Walkabouts, putter around with a few things. Removed our house batteries, cleaned them up a topped up with distilled water. Took only one cup of water for the two 6 volt Trojans after 6 months. They are holding out really well.
Gonna be here for two weeks altogether, and have been here many, many times before. Looks like March break is still going on in this area, from the number of children in the campground and by the pool. Think we can avoid that until next week.
Early morning walkabouts is so nice and peaceful. Spotted this Cardinal, so nice to see and managed to get a couple pics.snow? |
The lower campground has a lot of trees and think they are cottonwood trees. They are "snowing" all over the campground. We can handle this type of early morning snow when it is over 70f.

We have never had Egg Plant before and neither one of us were fussy on it. Grilled with olive oil, garlic and herb spices, just did not turn our crank. So at least we have tried it. Still the hen and tomato was excellent, I baked Suzie a potato that she enjoyed.
After supper did manage to catch another wonderful Arizona sunset, sure gonna miss these when we leave.
Now that was a day we both really enjoyed, relaxing in the shade, putter around, read our books and chat with neighbors. Perfect! We have a couple other things we may do before we leave the area but that will happen when the spirit moves us.
Thanks for relaxing with us again, it was fun.

We're not eggplant people either. We'll let you cook all of those you want and not be tempted by your pictures of them. Spring break and all the kids in the campground is a lot like summer. That's not really a bad thing. Sometimes your adult neighbors are more rowdy than the little ones.
ReplyDeleteHow right you are about the kids, it was actually their parents that were annoying. No more egg plant for us, been there done that.
DeleteI agree that the snow falling in your desert area is most acceptable.
ReplyDeleteYeppir it is interesting, fluffy and warm.
DeleteWith all those cottonwoods you might want to just double check your air conditioner before you leave to make sure it hasn't been clogged. When we leave our son's driveway in Montana we always have to clean out the cotton. You can keep the eggplant. Not very high on my list of good foods. Love the cardinals.
ReplyDeleteThose cottonwoods are in the lower campground, none of those here, Have not been running our air conditioner. No more eggplant for us either.
DeleteOkay, I will agree to disagree. Not everyone is 'cotton' (ha ha) to eggplant but I for one love it fried and will now try it on the Q as well. I'm sure it will be delicious too. :) Trade you snow, George! We didn't get anything overnight but my sister is in Hanover and got 8" overnight!!! I guess they won't be visiting today after all. LOL The park you are in looks gorgeous, the pool and the pond. We'll keep that one on our list.
ReplyDeleteI guess thats why there is so many different foods for different palates.
DeleteWe will deal with this snow, hope you get rid of that snow before we get back.
It is a nice campground.
I can handle the snow easier than the cottonwoods... allergies go crazy during this time. Eggplant is one of my favorites... fixed about any way. BUT... just have to let you know that I bought some asparagus (fresh and lovely) at H.E.B. yesterday for $3.98.... your asparagus made me drool all the time we were in Costa Rica, where the same amount, but not nearly as fresh, would have cost about $10.00.
ReplyDeleteNow you are getting your asparagus fix, enjoy, only $1.50 a lb here lately.
DeleteThe cottonwoods do affect my allergies too, glad we are not in that area of the lower campground.
Not overly keen on eggplant. I've had it as a "filler" in Lasagna and it was fine, but by itself I have a texture issue. But hey, you gave it a try.
ReplyDeleteMaybe as a filler, but think I will pass, will try about anything once.
DeleteHere in Mississippi they serve eggplant deep fried. Actually they serve almost everything deep fried.
ReplyDeleteYes everything deep fried in the Mississippi is usually pretty good, but no crazy on the flavor of eggplant now.
DeleteThat's the kind of snow I like.
ReplyDeleteFried eggplant is yummy. Nice and crisp and great texture.
This is great snow, soft, light and fluffy.
DeleteI will try the eggplant fried but will not cook it anymore.
I agree, the Campground looks gorgeous !
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy it here, out iste at the top of the hill away from the pool area, and like the zero nightly fees.
DeleteGood for you for trying something different. We do like it from time to time. Great shots of the park. That was our home park when we still belonged to Western Horizons.
ReplyDeleteWe always enjoy it here, great weather and a handy location.
DeleteMy kind of day George! I agree....it's nice to enjoy that kind of snow in shorts and flip-flops!
DeletePerfect for this time of year!
DeleteNice campground! Not a big fan of Eggplant - tried it once and that was enough.
ReplyDeleteOnce was enough for us too.
DeleteI can see why they are called cottonwoods and it does look like snow in your shots.
ReplyDeleteMuch nicer then snow, but does affect some allergies.
DeleteWhat? No snowballs??? ;c)
ReplyDeleteNaw too fluffy!
DeleteHow pretty ... don't recall ever seeing cottonwoods do their thing.... food looks good.. I like eggplant parmesan if prepared well... eggplant can be rubbery by books like me...
ReplyDeleteI am finally going check out that grill you and Rick carry on about... looks easy peasy to cook and clean on/with
No more egg plant for us, to many other foods we like.
DeleteJust loving our Weber Q, does it all for me thats for sure.
