Where are we today ?
On the way back to town saw this trailer (below) behind a tow truck and stopped to take a closer look. Pretty badly damaged and upon closer inspection noticed that there was a HUGE tree that had fallen on this rig and did some major damage. Luckily no one was in the trailer at the time (it was in storage). Another reason we prefer campgrounds with no or very few trees.
|very tasty supper again|
There is a lot of people out there that do not RV and cannot grasp the idea of why we would want to live in our Rv fulltime and not want to stay in a house, our one place all the time. They cannot grasp the concept of selling all their belongings to explore a bit, moving around this great country. I came across this article below that helps to explain why we love this lifestyle, we are now in our 8th year.
I read this quote below on an RV forum today and expresses our feellings exactly and would love to share it with you.
"Someone asked me the other day why I would want to "Live like this" when I can afford to buy a bigger modular and live in a nice senior park? I smile softly when my family or friends don't grasp why we choose to cash out and live on wheels. Our stuff owned us and we worked so very hard to allow inanimate objects to be our ruler. My husband maxed out his 401k for over 30 years. When we gave away and sold EVERYTHING we were completely debt free. Yes, we didn't sell our house at the top of the market, but so what if our profit was less...it was ours. So many said, "No don't sell, wait for the market to come back!!" We wanted FREEDOM from the rat race. We paid the 10% penalty on the 401k so we could do whatever we wanted. We live in a 32' Class A. It is not brand new, but it is not too old and we bought from the original owner who had all of the maintenance records. We are 100% debt free including our Honda 'Toad'. Our budget is 1/2 of what it used to be. Sometimes I live in a nice resort, sometimes by a lake, river, or in a bay, and sometimes in a beautiful forest. Why do we live like this?? A better question is why didn't we live like this SOONER?? "
So there, sums it up pretty good, works great for us. Glad it's not for everyone because it would get pretty crowded out here on the road.
Thanks for stopping by and if you are on the road and can find us, stop in for a visit, guests are always welcome!
