Trilliums, soccer, yard sales, fun and food.

Where are we today ?
Did you know that the White Trillium is the official flower for the Province of Ontario, Canada? I did, now you do too. It says so right HERE on Google. We saw these on the way to watch our Grandson's play soccer.
beautiful spring time flowers in the bush
one lonely pink trillium in the forest
It was a cold and overcast morning, but the kids were running around keeping warm and having too much fun. After soccer we went back for a short visit and saw their new baby kittens.
lots of energy
and visit with the dogs too
On our way home drove thru the village of Plattsville to check out the community yard sales. All we bought was two unbreakable Corelle dinner plates that actually match the one that had been broken by my slippery fingers me when I dropped it on a cement patio. Total expense .50 cents. Also visited a few old neighbors from town we have not seen for a while.
Around the corner drove by Jeff's house and they are having a BBQ fundraiser to raise funds funds for his daughter Ashley and friend Annie to ride in the Amazing Race fundraiser and Jeff's Ride to Conquer Cancer.  Both good causes and people we know.  Besides it was lunch time so, chat with  a bunch of friends, socialize, hot dog, hamburger and a sausage on a bun filled our tummies with ta tasty BBQ lunch and donated to their cause. A win, win situation.
gotta stop here
tasty lunch and very resaonable
Then back to the farm, putter around for a while, Sandy is walking her grandson Ben (our great nephew) out to see the cows and grandpa on the tractor.
Then shortly after 4 pm I fired up out Weber Q-100 to grill a nice sized chicken, with apple wood chips for added flavor. Made a pot of creamy whipped potatoes, caesar salad, some frozen veggies, and our Swiss Chalet dipping sauce for the chicken.
starting the chicken
chicken done and smelling awesome!
Now we had a very tasty supper once again.
Tummies full after a fun day once again about 7:30pm  so now inside to to relax a for a while and keep warm on a very cool evening 45f (8c). Compute and read for a bit then let the TV watch us for a while before calling it a night.
Hey, thanks again for dropping by, hope you had a great Saturday too!

  1. I have tried the apple wood chips on our Weber but they are to hard for us old guys to chew and I keep getting slivers in my mouth. Stay Warm :)

  5. I have seen those flowers but had no idea the name. They are such a delicate little beauty.

What a wonderful idea for a fun raiser. Hope they raised a lot of money.

    1. The trilliums are so delicate and a nice sign of spring.
They did very well with the fundraiser, sold way more than they anticipated.

  9. I never knew Trilliums were the official flower of Ontario. Then again, I don't know what the official flower of any province is - guess I'll have to visit Google to find out.

Our weather has cooled off a tad here too, so I think it might be an evening for a nice, warm fireplace! Great looking chicken - again!!
