Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

Well again it was a about 20f (-5c) overnight so disconnected the water line to keep it from freezing. But this morning as the sunrise warmed things up it got real nice. Walkabout the resort chat with a few people, this one woman 80 yrs old walked most of it with me and talked my ear off. Nice lady, she has been on the road over 20 years and is constantly on the move.
lotsa doves
We can hear the doves cooing and now have spotted some of them around the resort, a nice peaceful relaxing sound. Puttering about as the day warmed, then after noon I found time to cut my hair out side in the sun with Suzie's help. It was getting quite warm and we like to take advantage of any outside sunshine and fresh air that there is. Because of our patio location we have direct sun and no wind so it became quite hot. It seems strange to be sitting there with a book wearing only shorts and some people walking in the windy shade, wearing hats, boots, gloves and winter coats just a few feet away.
busy check in
Because we are just inside the entrance we do have all the traffic that enters the resort passing right by us and its amazing how busy this place is with probably 20 or more RV's checking in and out everyday. Chat with a few neighbours for a bit and read in the sun until its time to fire up the Barbie and fry daddy for some wings (with a variety of very hot sauces), fries and of course lotsa veggies and dip for supper.
yummy
After such a  great campsite, nice patio and windbreak we got spoiled and are not feeling the cold so much like other parts of the country, but we are on the road in the morning (sat) to Benson (for 5 nights), only 2 hours away, but a little higher elevation and no windbreaks or patios but we will have sunshine. Just taking our time heading east, south thru Texas towards Mississippi then a mad dash north late April. Now we are confident that the current storms in Texas will be all cleared up by next week when we head that way.

  1. So you think the hot sauce will keep you warm? I like to sit inside the RV in the sun!
