Where are we today ?

With the time change last night my early morning came an hour earlier, wonderful ! Sunshine earlier in the day, love it, but gets dark so early too. So I make the best of the sunshine and these clear blue skies and very warm days. And next no humidity makes it even better. Up to 83 f (28 C) really loving it!

Our resident Roadrunner dropped by for a while just love to watch these guys |
By 7:30 this morning I was in shorts and headed out for a nice walkabout . Down around the lake and day use areas that are packed in the summer here.
|
can't imagine all the people that could be here in the summer |
|
bbq and beach volley ball |
|
nice hiking trails |
|
I walked this trail for a while so very nice |
|
love the desert scenery |
A bit later we took drive around the park to check out the scenery.
|
overlooking Lea Lake where we are camped |
|
what a beautiful view off the lake |
Back home for a light tasty lunch and enjoying this very warm day, in the shade, A nice light breeze made it very comfortable .
|
looking across from our site, very large sites here |
This roadrunner was around for a while so much fun to watch.
Then before it got too hot I washed our car to see how hard the water was. Very hard . I can clean the water spots from our car very easily . but not the coach. So I did most of our coach with this waterless wash and wax from Meguiar's. Just found it the other day and gave it a try. Love it, sure does a great job and so easy to use.

love this stuff and very reasonable too. |
While enjoying our e-readers Suzie spotted this walking stick below just wandering by our site. Cool!
|
very interesting creatures these are |
About 3 pm Brenda and Len joined us for "Happy Hour" and we exchanged more information and as aways have lots to talk about. Eventually they headed home for supper and we said our "See ya Laters" they are heading on down the road in the morning. I am sure we will keep in touch and hook up again at some point. Safe travels guys!
Almost missed this sunset tonight. heck it's an hour earlier, gotta keep that in mind.
|
almost missed the sunset but was still nice |
For supper tonight a salmon burger for Suzie and I made a Chirozo burger for me from some fresh Chirozo that I picked up the other day in Roswell at the Farmer's Country Market.
|
my Burger on the right |

Want to learn more about Membership camping
at Rock Glen Family Resort ?
Where have we been this winter ?
Those pictures certainly make me want to be there.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is a beautiful place, I can see us coming back.
DeleteAgain, I think I said it the other day but it still holds true, it looks like a wonderful place to be parked. I cannot believe that roadrunner stood still enough for you to get such a good picture. Whenever we have spotted them they are moving so quickly we hardly ever get a picture with them in it.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is a beautiful place. This roadrunner, seems to wander about the campground and appears to be very curious, of course when then run, they are really fast.
DeleteI'm all about the roadrunners! At my new Arizona place, they spent all day on my grass and perched on the block wall. So fun to watch!!
ReplyDeleteThey are so ,such fun to watch, enjoy them when you get there.
DeleteWhat a beautiful day once again! Love the roadrunners, the facial expressions you caught! Looks like a beautiful park and uncrowded this time of year. Dinner looked wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys it sure was a beautiful day, love watching the roadrunners. The day use is not busy but the campground pretty full, love it here.
DeleteAwesome photo of the roadrunner! Never got the chance to get such a close up.
ReplyDeleteThank Bea we have been lucky a few times like this.
DeleteLoved the roadrunner pictures. How'd you get them to stand still long enough to take the pictures?
ReplyDeleteThank you, I guess he is used to people being around, and we kept very still while he was here.
DeleteLove the roadrunner picture too, George! The colours and detail are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are enjoying some down time too.
Thanks Patsy, was happy with the way they turned out.
DeleteLoving this part of our trip, enjoying the weather.
The walking twigs are something to observe. Wonders of nature.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful lake. I bet you are right and it is packed during the summer time. Funny how different locations are full in the summer and places like Arizona fill up in the winter.
ReplyDeleteIt is really nice here, the campground is full, but nobody on the beach.
