More wonderful weather and doggie fixes for Suzie.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it

Another cool night great for sleeping 43 f at 5 am , fired up our Mr. Heater and soon comfy and cozy inside. When the sun came up I headed out to get a few laps of the campground  By the end of the day got 4 miles done, only 3.5 miles yesterday , Working off our Thanksgiving dinner from yesterday.
Noticed a fellow blogger and rv'er in the park Scot and his family that we met at Elephant Butte State Park Their Blog is Living Large in the North.  They are a young family from Western Canada with 7 children all being home schooled. And enjoying exploring the southwest for the winter months. He was at the laundry working on this for all 9 of them, a long process it was but he did get it all done.
We have no plans today not wanting to get into Black Friday traffic and crowds etc.. so just enjoyed this amazing weather.  I just whipped around the corner to check this rv place for parts that we do not need, and loved this truck below they had on their lot.
love this old truck
The rest of the day between walkabouts, reading and chatting with few neighbours was perfect, really gotta love this weather. Did get up to 85 F in the shade a nice light breeze and we have a shady spot to relax.
you know it is warm when Suzie is in the shade
in her shorts!
3 pm evolved and so does Happy Hour, Jean, Skip and the dogs (Sophie and Louie) joined us. And of course Suzie got her doggie fixes.
Louie and Sophie,
like twins I can't tell them apart
they have to share the same bed
I think that is Sophie on Skips lap
I had put a 5 lb chicken on our Weber Q 100 and set up our wind screen, got it preheated and turned it down. Guess the wind was too strong and it went out. So fired it up again left it on a higher temps, and away it went , later than we like but still was done to perfection.
sure was setting as it was almost done
because it went out I turned it over for a
few minutes to crisp the breast.
the foil at the back has mesquite wood chips
to add a smokey flavor
no matter was all good and enjoyed our salad
with it.
perfect timing chicken done as the sun gave us a nice sunset
and of course leftovers
and some chicken soup
soon.
That was it for a great desert day, hope y'all enjoyed yours as well. Thanks for stopping on by.

  1. I would never think to put wood chips in with it but I'll be keeping that in mind. Good idea that I realize has been around a long time, my blonde roots don't allow me to think that way I guess.

    1. The wood chops add a nice smokey smell to cooking on a gas grill. and a bit more flavour to the food as well.

    1. The chicken always turns out wonderful on our Weber Q. The weather in the southwest is what we love and why we keep coming back.

  6. Nothing better than BBQ chicken. I find the wood chips add to the smoke flavor more in turkey than chicken though. Probably the different spices or rubs used.

    1. Good luck with your chicken, I speak it oil spice it the way we like, preheat you Weber q turn to about 1/3rd heat close lid in about an hour check with the meat thermometer should be at least 165-180 check white and dark meat, if not there yet leave for a while longer, Should turn out wonderful, enjoy.
Reading a book and relaxing is what we like to day after usually busy mornings. Our while out supper is cooking on the Weber Q.
