Where have we been this winter ?
Evening George/Suzie, that place sure looks fantastic... Brad would love those roads in our new Jeep. We saw a Roadrunner today, little bugger was running... man are they quick. Quite the adventure that family will have no doubt. I'm excited for them, wish I'd thought of it when mine were young.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in Katie and Brad , lots of great areas in this park to explore, love the Roadrunners too, they are very quick.
DeleteWe have met a few families like this on the road what an adventure they will have for sure.
Great pictures of what sounds like another good day to be enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteThanks it was a wonderful day.
DeleteI only cook my ribs now with the sauerkraut. What a difference it makes. Have told a few people about the method. Just wondering how you came across this or any history about it? Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteThe sauerkraut makes a huge difference. I used to boil them years ago to make them tender, but found they were too bland, and would make sauerkraut on the side, So thought I would try cooking the ribs and kraut together and as you know it does make a huge difference. Then on to the grill with BBQ sauce or in the oven to glaze them.
DeleteLove the Jack Reacher series. Also, love that blue sky and warm weather.
ReplyDeleteThe Jack Reacher series is another wonderful read page turners, Clear blue skies and warm weather? Perfect !
DeleteLove Lee Child's writing too. Haven't found any at these last two parks, hoping at Bullhead City.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy watching the quails and roadrunners. Your ribs as usual look awesome, I never seem to have sauerkraut on hand, keep forgetting it on the list!
Good luck with finding more books, we have downloaded quite a few, so no [problem here.
DeleteThe quails and roadrunners are amazing to watch, and as you know we stock up read good with sauerkraut.
Don't know why, but your blog posting always makes me hungry and wanting to go somewhere in the motorhome.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dizzy, travelling and eating are 2 of our favourite things.
DeleteHoly cow that man and his wife are brave to be traveling full-time with 7 young children and having the patience to home school them. We wish them well and hope they have many happy adventures.

Yes they sure are but what a great adventure they and the kids will have !
DeleteDinner looks fantastic. Although I'd pass on the kraut. I'm looking forward to seeing some roadrunners and quails on our travels. I'm also a Lee Child's fan, enjoying Reacher, Night School right now. The weather looks great!!
ReplyDeleteSusie does like kraut either but cooking the ribs she does not ind at all. Lee Child is wonderful the weather is wonderful and you will love the wildlife here.
DeleteWe left Elephant Butte the day you arrived. Wish we were still there, I could go for some ribs in 'kraut!
ReplyDeleteFrom the pictures, I believe you went to the 'dirt dam' which just kind of fills in a low spot. The real dam is concrete and 100 years old (last year.) You go towards T or C, but turn left at the "T", towards Engle, and follow the signs to the dam site. It is a very interesting area, with some old CCC works and great views. We always enjoy following your blog.
Thank Lee for the tip think we did that a couple of years ago will check it out again .
DeleteLove the ribs and kraut, so tender and tasty.
Excuse me Sir, is that snow on the ground in that first pic? We haven't even gotten it here at the coast yet. But cold it is for sure. -4C right now.
ReplyDeletePeter no snow just white gravel still in the mid 60"s f here. If it gets that cold we will move on down the road.
DeleteIncredible undertaking to be full time with 7 children...not sure I would have the patience for that. But then not sure how patient in a sticks and brick with 7 children either. I am beginning to think you carry that roadrunner with you since you are always spotting them...Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about 7 children it sure take a special type off couple for that and they are a great couple too. Not The roadrunners all over the desert as you should know.
