Where are we today ?
Today we leaving town! Time to get outta Dodge. First thing at 7:30 this morning down to Pettigrew's garage to get an oil change on our car, almost forget to get it done. Service done, chat with the guys for a bit, fill our water jug with RO at the store, see our grandsons off to school across the street then back home by 8:30.
Then we just puttered around slowly packing things up, no rush only and 96 minute drive to the campground. Rock Glen Resort in Arkona. We are booked in here for 3 weeks of camping with full hookups but our plans are written in chalk. We do enjoy this park and no overnight fees, makes it very nice. It is our home park part on the R.O.D system (Resorts of Distinction).

getting close, at all the wind turbines, in the area |

here we are |
One thing we like here is all the sites are first come first served. There is quite a few sites that we like and never know which one we will get. This time we are down in the "Valley" a huge grassy site, at the end of the road. Nobody behind us or beside us us and wonderful warm afternoon sun = perfect!
We arrived about 11:30 got set up, a bite for lunch and now we can relax. Some afternoon reading, walkabouts, chatting with a few people here that we have not seen since last year. Just very relaxing!
|
now this is awesome |
|
this is the view from our patio |
Then at 4 pm our friends Emile and Monique stopped by for "Happy Hour". So nice to catch up, we have not seen them in about a year. They spent most of this past winter in Florida. The year before in Arizona.

After supper Joe dropped by to chat for a bit then we inside for the night, cooling off quite a bit now, but comfy inside.

Feels so good too.
DeleteThe wonderful feeling of being on the open road again.
ReplyDeleteNow you can truly relax for the next three weeks. Your favourite spot must have been taken for you to be in the valley.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Love just cruising on down the road.
DeleteThis is another favorite spot too though.
I see from your "interactive map" that you have been in Willis, Texas. I live very near there, not more than a fifteen minute drive.
ReplyDeleteYeah we have been there quite a few times over the years, and visit Conroe, Trinity, and a few flea markets in the area.
DeleteWe really enjoy that area.
One more "Fact of Life" taken care of, you are now back on mobile time. As time goes by you'll get closer to Vancouver. When that time comes we would love to see you both.
ReplyDeleteWe do want to get out that way someday and soon, again those plans are written in chalk.
DeleteWould love to meet you guys too.
I know you are happy to have all of the family duties behind you and be on the road again.
ReplyDeleteNice to get away for sure.
DeleteNow all the work is done, you two can kick back and enjoy the good life.
ReplyDeleteWe will do our best!
DeleteA just reward for all your hard work this winter! Enjoy! :c)

DeleteI almost missed your blog... don't know where I've been. But... so good to hear you are on the road again. And... dang! that meal looks good. (I sighed a big sigh when I read this one... it's about time you guys had some down time)
ReplyDeleteWe have the huge sigh too.
DeleteYou two definitely deserve a break! Yayayayay....on the road, even a little bit is so rewarding after all you have accomplished. Have a great time!!
ReplyDeleteWe are ready thats for sure.
DeleteSometimes the short distance moves are much more rewarding than the long distance ones. At least they itch the hitch.
ReplyDeleteThat right any new place is always welcome.
