Baked some Rhubarb muffins today and enjoyed some more great weather

Where are we today ?
Was a cold night and first thing this morning, but as the sun rose things warmed up dramatically. Almost like the desert in the south west in January and February. Warm days cold nights.
Early morning walkabouts chat with a few people then I headed off to the No Frills store in Grand Bend for a few grocery items. Back home in time to make lunch for Suzie and I.
Yesterday our friend Richard stopped by to see if we wanted any fresh rhubarb from his garden. It has been a few years since we had some. Had a Rhubarb patch in our yard when I had the restaurant and made many rhubarb pies over the years, sometimes as much as 5-6 a day. So I took a handfull and I decided to make some rhubarb muffins and share them with some friends around here.
love fresh rhubarb
So a easy quick recipe to whip up these muffins. you can check it out HERE or my recipe blog on the top right sidebar.
Love rhubarb anything!
these are very tasty
Chatted with neighbors Rob and Robin and their 2 dogs, Suzie got her doggie fix.

Now with perfect weather on a nice warm sunny afternoon we can enjoy our e-readers in the afternoon shade. What a wonderful afternoon we had.

this was our Temp at 5:30 pm as things were
 cooling down, love it !
Then time for me to take a reading break and whip up supper. Put together our salad and fire up our Weber Q 100. Gonna grill a Turkey breast.
turkey breast on our preheated grill ready to go
about 1 hour, low and slow done to 165F internal temp
perfect, so moist,tender and juicy.
added to the salad an awesome meal and lotsa leftover Turkey
for lunches or whatever
After supper a walkabout and visit with friends Harry and Jackie to check out their (new to them) Mobile Suites 5th wheel trailer, very nice indeed! A nice visit and catch up on our activities since we last saw them almost a year ago. Just love meeting up with fellow RV'ers when we move around.
Getting cooler and darker now, time to get home warm up and finish posting for today.
Thanks for stopping in for a peek hope you enjoyed a great day too!

Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Spring and Summer.

  2. When we would visit my grandmother long ago in Kentucky, she sometimes would make strawberry-rhubarb pie. So yummy! I'll have to try the muffin recipe the next time I get hold of some rhubarb. I'm glad you and Suzie are settled and are enjoying the area. Dinner (as always) looks awesome! :-)
