Where are we today ?
Now that was a wonderful good nights sleep, windows open, fresh air and all was good. After a quick trip to the store to top up groceries we had and early lunch. Turkey soup and turkey sandwich then we headed to Warner Robins to the museum of aviation. About 25 miles north of here. Have been in this area a few times and have never checked it out. Bonus here is it FREE admission and we like free. Who does not like free?We arrived around 11:am and were overwhelmed by the bus loads of students that were here. Hmm, maybe not a good day to do this? We here anyway so lets give it a try. We did work our way around the crowds and exhibits trying to avoid them. Actually did a pretty go job too.
I will let the pictures tell the story.

Well the museum here was just OK. Guess we got spoiled from our first one in Pensacola Florida. Now that one was absolutely amazing. And we may just go back there again this year on our tour.
After about 3 hours touring this facility, we got a good workout walking a few miles, headed back home to Unadilla.
Just before the Resort passing over the train tracks we noticed this train with a high hoe on a rail car. So we stopped for a bit to observe. Very interesting the way he was picking up the old railway ties at the side of the track and loading them into the cars. As he filled them up he moved his equipment over top of the load. I am sure he really knew what he was doing.
amazing to watch this machine |
Back home before 3 o'clock we got a good opportunity to enjoy a wonderful couple hours of afternoon sunshine on our site and get some quality reading time in until the sun began to set shortly after 5 pm.
Between chapters I got in a couple short walkabouts, gather a few more pecans. Then whipped up an easy supper. Guess what? More turkey. Some turkey soup, a salad and turkey with cranberry sauce really hit the spot. We can never get too much turkey.
We did get to enjoy a perfect sunny fall day touring around here, the museum and all. Even had my shorts and t shirt on for a while too.
Hope your enjoyed your day as well.
Thanks for stopping by.
Posted by George, no Weber Q tonight again!
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Winter.
wonder if the operator was singing...high hoe, high hoe it's off to work we go?
ReplyDeleteHa, ha.. guess he should have been.
DeleteEveryone has to like free. Sounds like a fun day.
ReplyDeleteIt sure was a fun day and great weather for it too.
DeleteI agree about the museum in Pensacola...it is awesome! Haven't been to the one in Warner Robins...thanks for taking us there with your pictures!
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice outing and was free, but no where near the one in Pensacola.
DeleteWe have been to Pensacola and enjoyed the Museum there. I love any aviation museum! Didn't see no one in shorts around here today...
ReplyDeleteIt was cooler in the morning but I put my shorts on when we got home.
DeleteAs a kid, I got to visit a relative who was stationed at the air force base in Warner Robbins, where a SAC wing was stationed. We got to tour the air wing area and an active (unarmed) B-52 and it was exciting - I can still remember standing in the huge bomb bay.
ReplyDeleteNow that would have been exciting!
DeleteYou need to stay at Turkeyville RV Resort. Everything is turkey there.
ReplyDeleteHey now that sounds like it would be awesome!
DeleteYep, free is great! Glad you enjoyed the museum.

Free sure is good, if we don't like it much no loss.
DeleteNice museum visit, George and the pictures were great.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rick it was a fun day.
DeleteKind of hard to top the Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola, but if you got to the Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH, it will be topped by that one.
ReplyDeleteWell that sound awesome, we may just have to check it out there in the sporing when we pass through.
DeleteThe visit to the air museum made for a fun day. Although not near the level of greatness that the one in Pensacola offers, it still made for a nice outing.
ReplyDeleteThe Turkey RV Resort sounds kind of interesting!
It was a fun day, and any turkey is good for us.
DeleteDave & I went when they had the Wheels and Wings in October. They had a car show in the parking lot and then we went through the museum. It was a great day and love looking at the cars. All the way from Antiques to classics to today's hot rods.. Glad you enjoyed it and like you said it was free... :-) The dinner looks great. Try putting cranberry sauce with some mayo in the food processor or blender and spread on a turkey sandwich.. it is great.. :-) glad you are enjoying your time in Ga..
ReplyDeleteWe always love Georgia. We usually put the cranberry sauce on out turkey sandwichs.
DeleteLooks like a great museum.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun day, and the price was right.
