Great sunny warm weather, meet more people and our last day here.

Where are we today ?
Hey it was a wonderful mild night again in middle Georgia, windows open and a great sleep. Even slept in until almost 6 am, thats amazing!
Our plan today is we have no plans, lets just hang out and do STUFF. Like putter around, check tire pressures, pack up our Weber Q, roll up our awning, chat with some neighbors. One couple from Ontario and another from Saskatchewan. We even got to read for a while (in the shade) enjoying another wonderful day of perfect weather.
this was the temp about 10:30am in the shade, love it
early morning reading perfect
A few walkabouts  picking some pecans here and there. Thought about a mini golf game but before we knew it the day was almost done. Where does the time go?
A nice 9 hole mini golf here would have been fun, but..... really got to busy?
Reading and chatting then as the sun begins to set gonna whip up supper, Guess what? More turkey. That is it for a while we have been downsizing the leftovers enough that we can package them up and squeeze in the freezer.
a nice after noon sunset here
Thats our site here lotsa room
Some comfort food tonight an open faced hot turkey with gravy, whipped taters with broccoli and carrots.
Sure did the trick
We have been here for a week and have that hitch itch again, so down the road in the morning to a State park on the Gulf in Destin Florida for a few days. We don't do many state parks so this will be a treat for us.
Thank again for stopping in for a peak, hope you had a wonderful day too.

Warner Robbins Museum of Aviation GA.

Where are we today ?
Now that was a wonderful good nights sleep, windows open, fresh air and all was good. After  a quick trip to the store to top up groceries we had and early lunch. Turkey soup and turkey sandwich then we headed to Warner Robins to the museum of aviation. About 25 miles north of here. Have been in this area a few times and have never checked it out. Bonus here is it FREE admission and we like free. Who does not like free?
We arrived around 11:am and were overwhelmed by the bus loads of students that were here.  Hmm, maybe not a good day to do this? We here anyway so lets give it a try. We did work our way around the crowds and exhibits trying to avoid them. Actually did a pretty go job too.
I will let the pictures tell the story.
You can click in the pictures and most will get larger.
entrance
1942 Willy's jeep
some nice videos here but the theatre was full
then heading out to other hangers
and students everywhere
Most of the outside displays were very quiet, perfect for us.
Well the museum here was just OK. Guess we got spoiled from our first one in Pensacola Florida. Now that one was absolutely amazing. And we may just go back there again this year on our tour.
After about 3 hours touring this facility, we got a good workout walking a few miles, headed back home to Unadilla.
Just before the Resort passing over the train tracks we noticed this train with a high hoe on a rail car. So we stopped for a bit to observe. Very interesting the way he was picking up the old railway ties at the side of the track and loading them into the cars. As he filled them up he moved his equipment over top of the load. I am sure he really knew what he was doing.
amazing to watch this machine
Back home before 3 o'clock we got a good opportunity to enjoy a wonderful couple hours of afternoon sunshine on our site and get some quality reading time in until the sun began to set shortly after 5 pm.
Between chapters I got in a couple short walkabouts, gather a few more pecans. Then whipped up an easy supper. Guess what? More turkey. Some turkey soup, a salad and turkey with cranberry sauce really hit the spot. We can never get too much turkey.

We did get to enjoy a perfect sunny fall day touring around here, the museum and all. Even had my shorts and t shirt on for a while too.
Hope your enjoyed your day as well.
           Thanks for stopping by.

The wind went away, very warm and sunny today, love Georgia!

Where are we today ?
Was another cold night outside but again we are toasty warm here in our house. The dual pane windows and extra insulation in our coach sure does a superb job.
With the time change last night I got up about 5 am like usual but forgot to change our clocks so actually 4 am. No problem the sun still came up and was turning into a wonderful sunny day. No wind made it amazing.
another nice sunrise
We did have some frost though. Not enough to freeze our water line. Once the sun was shining it went away real quick.
windshield on our car
Last night I had boiled our turkey carcass for a nice soup base. Once it had cooled I set it in the trunk of the car overnight. So this morning the fat was set and I could skim it off making for a wonderful turkey broth for my soup.
skim the fat off here
Now almost fat free and got it simmering for a couple hours added a whole mess of veggies and spices, our coach smelled wonderful again. Did I tell ya we love turkey?
Then time for lunch, how about a turkey sandwich, with cranberries and turkey noodle soup? We both really enjoyed that.
Then it was such a wonderful, warm sunny day after a few walkabouts we enjoyed reading outside for most of the afternoon. Of course, I putter around every now and then, but we did get some major reading done today. Our favorite pastime.
Perfect, sunny, a bit of shade and temps in the high 60's
almost 80f in the sun
On my walkabouts I stopped under a few pecan trees in the resort. With the high winds yesterday we had an amazing amount of pecans harvested. Took only a few minutes to get couple pockets full.
lots more to be had here
With the time change we will start supper a bit earlier. Were gonna to have some left over turkey but it was so nice out gotta fire up our Weber Q again. Grill a couple pork chops, sweet red peppers and carrots and a green salad sure did the trick.
Still have lots of turkey and soup that we can work on when the spirit moves us in the next day or two.
Really enjoying this bright sunny weather again. We can handle cold nights as long as it not too windy especially when it's nice and sunny during the day.
Hope y'all, had a great Sunday too.  Thanks once again for stopping on by.

Loving Georgia! Sunshine and perfect warm weather.

Where are we today ?
Another great nights sleep last night, windows open great for sleeping. Up early again, coffees and computing walkabouts, really loving this weather here so far.
Trip into Unadilla, just down the road a mile or so, pick up a few things at the Piggly Wiggly. Not to much else in town (Dollar General, and a family Dollar, auto parts places etc..) and still like the ghost town it was first time we were here over 8 years ago.
love this mail box
After hanging put for a while enjoying this great weather we wandered over to the Clothing Carnival in town. Lotsa good deals to be had but all we could find here was another new vest for me, Need a new one every year or so.
And here it is my new vest below, much the same as my old ones but they do wear out ya know.
good for a while longer
Back home to enjoy this perfect weather we are having here. Walkabouts, read in the shade thats why we are here!
just about perfect temps
nice pool here too
Across the road some fields of cotton love seeing these things here, so different than what we see back home.
so white and fluffy
Found some cotton balls floating across the road and some fresh pecans under the trees in the campground. This is the place for both of these things.
cotton bals and pecans, yep we in Georgia.
Relaxing and reading in the shade for a while, talk about a perfect day!
Then about 4:30 I fired up our Weber Q. Gonna grill some Bacon and Cheddar, Potato Bratwurst that we picked up last spring in Hermann MO. Just love these and thats the end of this flavor.
Add to the Brats some sweet potatoes with apples, brown sugar and cinnamon, one of Suzie's favorites and a lettuce salad reallty hit the spot. For the sweet potato recipe just click HERE.
Thats it , hit the spot
Still nice out and got to enjoy some more nice weather outside , before calling it a night.
Glad you could drop in and enjoy this wonderful day with us. Come back again tomorrow for more.

Lenior City Tennessee to Unadilla Georgia another great drive.

Where are we today ?
Well Wally World in Lenoir City Tennessee was a very quiet night except for the heavy duty rain that lulled us to sleep and went all night. Really don't mind that rain at all as long as it's at night time.
Again up early got coffees drank, computing done and some shopping at the Walmart, love these 24 hour stores. So by 8 am the rain let up and it was almost daylight so we hopped on I-75 heading south. No traffic issues and not much rain for most of the day. Sailed right through Chattanooga TN and Atlanta Georgia no problems.
only 334 miles today we slowing down
Stopped at the rest areas to stretch and made a bite for lunch at the Georgia Welcome centre. Carried on down the road a bit and ran into major rain storm for about 5 minutes, had to almost stop
Nice welcome centre
Right by Perry Georgia noticed that the north bound lanes were driving in heavy rain! Our roads were dry, few minutes later we got the rain too. Heavy duty rain had to slow down to 30 mph ! But only lasted about 5 minutes.
raining in the other lanes northbound
Pulled into Southern Trails Resort in Unadilla GA for a week, right off I-75 at 1:45 pm, made good time today. This is another membership park Resorts of Distinction, no overnight fees our kinda camping!
Just checking in for a week. We have been here a few times before and enjoy this campground and area of Georgia.
nice large sites
All settled in and can now relax for a bit. Enjoy some reading outside, shorts, t-shirts, sandals. Thats why we here, about 82f, yep just about perfect. Its gonna cool down for a few days but still much better than what they will be having back home.
gotta be nice if Suzie is in shorts
Then time to make supper on our Weber Q . Easy peasy, grill a couple Turkey Burgers, thin buns and a very tasty salad.
Really liking these Turkey burgers
After supper still nice and warm at 7 pm about 72f so outside to enjoy more of this wonderful weather.
Just gonna hang out here for a week, enjoy the area, visit some people and maybe even do a bit of touring about. Whatever we feel like, just 'cause we can.
Thanks again for the visit hope you enjoyed the drive as much as we.did.
