Where are we today ?
It was cold last night outside, but we toasty warm inside. Like the weather guesser said it got down to 26f (-3c). We disconnected our water hose just in case. Hey we even had a window open a bit (as usual) and a wonderful nights sleep.A few issues with ma, she was admitted to the hospital the other day in pain, and needed an operation, (bowel blockage) it was considered an emergency operation and was done at midnight last night. Sis is there standing by and as of tonight sounds like she is recovering very quickly still in ICU and wants to go home. It will take a bit before that will happen, but that is a good sign for being 87 years old.
So with being still kinda cold here think it got up to 42f was not a great day for shorts or sitting outside. Did get quite a few walkabouts done and even a small project building a foot rest for Suzie while we are driving. I made one way back in 2006 but for some reason now it needs to be a bit higher. Maybe her legs getting shorter?
One of my walkabouts spotted this wonderful looking plant, I do believe it is mistletoe, the real thing! Check the pics below.
so wonderful looking in real life |
A map of this campground, it is huge! Would be a zoo in the summer months.
On my walkabouts went by the adult pool and clubhouse, very nice. Was closed for the season though.
adult pool and hot tub |
hideaway Havens and pool |
Cajun Chalets and pool |
A- frame Cabins |
so nice and quiet here, love it |
Still cold out but want to use our Weber Q tonight grill some tilapia fillets and yellow peppers, add to a salad and we enjoyed another wonderful supper.
Our Weber Q 100 comes through again |
very tasty |
Thanks again for stopping by. We are on the road in the morning not too far, for a new experience gotta visit Betty's Rv park in Abbeville La. We have heard so much about it from fellow rv'er's. Come back and see how we made out.

Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Winter.
Keeping Ma in our prayers for college healing and lots of patience. So glad your sister is there to help her with her recovery.
ReplyDeleteYou will love Betty's. We were there in 2011. What a riot. Enjoy.
Thanks for the prayers am sure she will recover quickly.
DeleteWe are looking forward to Betty's.
George , That plant is holly.
ReplyDeleteLook up in trees to find mistletoe.
Well there ya go thanks papoojack, now I know the difference.
DeleteStill very nice plant.
Prayers that Ma will fare well and be home soon.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to get your take on Betty's RV Park...have read about it on blogs too.
Thanks for your prayers.
DeleteBetty's is just a place we have to go to, because we can.
Kathy and I will be praying for a speedy recovery for your mom. Glad your sister is there to help her along.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a Newbie RVer taking that long to set up. Hope they took the car off the Dolly before they unhooked otherwise they're going to have a heck of a time reconnecting.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Thanks for the prayers.
DeleteThey actually left the car on the dolly, not sure why.
Ahhh - fellow RV watching is fun isn't it?! All the best for your Ma!
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa, Rv people watching is very entertaining.
DeleteIt's good that you have your sister back to sit with your mom. It's probably hard to be away at times like this. Hope she gets back to feeling pretty good fast.
ReplyDeleteSis takes care of that stuff much better than I do.
DeleteShe will be right back to her old self real soon I am sure.
Sending our best wishes for your mom's quick recovery. it is good that your sister can look in on mom.
ReplyDeleteWe have always read good things about Betty's RV Park. It should be a rewarding stop over for you two.
There is family and friends in the area, and a great staff at the new seniors place she is in.
DeleteWe have been through this area many times, and never thought to stop, this time sort of planned it so that we could get a reservation.
All the best to your mom, George, hope she is home soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill, am sure all will be good.
DeleteYou are right around the same area we have been in last winter and it seems like the weather pattern is repeating itself. If you plan on crossing Texas I sure hope your not getting into a deep freeze. I would recommend a southern route along the gulf and up north along the Rio Grande. That is in case it's really getting cold.
ReplyDeleteWe just play that route by ear, got stranded last Dec 3rd in Midland Texas hopefully will not do that again.
DeleteGreetings from Niagara Falls, NY where we just got two inches of snow but Buffalo and South Towns got the worst on record.......90 inches in many areas. This is a disaster area for sure. Even getting a visit from Gov Cuomo...a lot of good THAT will do! So enjoy your nice weather for us!
ReplyDeleteWe sure will , you guys keep safe and warm there.
DeleteHope your Mom recovers quickly, it is lucky that she decided to move to the seniors home, less worry for everyone when she is discharged.
ReplyDeleteThank you, the move for her was good timing.
DeleteDitto to what my husband has already said from me too. Hope Ma has a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteShe is doing really well and think things will be good for her soon.
