Where are we today ?
It was very mild last night, just gonna be another wonderful day again. So the plan is to check out a couple fleamarkets. Suzie had picked Houston today unknown to me so that was the final plan. Only about an hour away from here travelling into and around Houston. Its a big city but I know we can do it in the car.
We were here a couple years ago and enjoyed the outing so not a problem. This be the place Traders Village in Houston Texas. It is huge and a very busy place lots to see and do.
Left Willis about 9:30 am and arrived shortly after 10:30.
this be the place |
this be the place |
they even have an Rv campground here too if you wish |
10:30 is early and the crowds not here yet, thats what we like |
Took lots pics if you care to check them out.
In the middle even have a fairground with lots of rides for the kiddies. Pretty reasonable compared to other places we have seen. So many fun things for the kids to do as well.
Now this cart below is driving around just like on a golf course. Cold beer on tap, now is that too cool or what?
Outta here after a couple hours and made it to the car. Parking lot is getting very full and the crowds rolling in. We had packed a couple sandwiches for lunch so sat in the car and discused our next plan of attack.
Food vendors every where if you choose to give them your money.
fresh fruit and veggies, but kind of expensive |
lots of food vendors |
they even have a few bars here too |

need a beer or pop? right here |
saw couple neat BBQ's too, not a Weber but still cool |
Now seeing as we are already in Houston why not just jump right into the mess of roads and traffic? Suzie would like to stop into IKEA and we have the time. Its been while since we have been to one of these stores and are looking for 2 new large throw cushions. Our old ones are over 15 years old so time to replace them.
Ikea only 20 minute away right on the heart of Houston, but we are brave, lets go for it!
Finally home about 4 o'clock, chairs outside and we can relax and read for a while. Before I get it the mood to whip up supper.
Noticed this guy pull in to deliver a pizza, in his convertible, thing maybe the pizza be cold? Maybe.
No problem a I get to cook supper again, my favorite time of day, (Suzie's too). Tonight a tasty catfish fillet, grilled orange pepper, bean salad and a lettuce salad sure did the trick.
That was our fun day enjoying this wonderful warm Texas weather doing what we really like to do.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by for a visit. Sure hope you had a great day too.

bridges and roads everywhere here |

It's been a long time since we have been to one of these places, but looking and searching we found what we were looking for. Two large cushions with removable covers that we can wash or replace = perfect!
Also on the way pout we had to stop and grab a couple frozen yogurt cones (fat Free) and only one dollar each, a nice treat after our busy day. We still have over and hours drive back home so needed some fortification.

Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Winter.
You captured Trader Village perfect. How about those people selling animals. They drive me nuts. I think that is so cruel!
ReplyDeleteOur stop at IKEA isn't complete unless we get a frozen yogurt cone. Completes our visit every time.
We like flea markets and this is a nice huge one, perfect for an outing on a warm fall day. And not crazy about the people selling those animals either, at a market like this.
DeleteNow the cone was a nice treat after a few hours of walking.
There's also a Trader Village south of the Dallas area. When we lived there we would occasionally check out all the stuff they had. The place was huge.
ReplyDeleteWe may be staying in that area as well and pan to check that one out too.
DeleteThat's quite the flea market !!
ReplyDeleteIt is a busy one thats for sure.
DeleteThat flea market was a pleasant activity to take in. Ice cream is good anytime.
ReplyDeleteNice choice on the new pillows.
It was a fun day, got the pillows we have been looking for the last couple years too.
DeleteWe love the flea markets, but never seem to buy anything. It's great just people watching.
ReplyDeleteWe don't usually buy much either, but forgot to mention the 5 new T shirts I picked up for $10.00 to replce some worn stained ones I have.
DeleteWow, what a fun day! I love IKEA and bought two plastic gooseneck lamps in Oregon last summer that have a pop out solar panel you can charge. They're great! I'm always wanting one of those ooey-gooey cinnamon rolls, but never get one as I know they have a zillion calories...
ReplyDeleteIKEA is an interesting store, and we resisted the cinnamon buns in favor of the yogurt cone.
DeleteSounds like interesting lamps.
It's nice to live in an RV and not have any room for additional items, so temptation is not an issue. ;c)
ReplyDeleteThat is so true, one in one out, sure works for us,
