Goodbye Alabama, through Mississippi, to Louisiana a great travel day.

Where are we today ?
We gonna head down the road this morning. Up early as usual the standard computing, coffees and walkabouts, just waiting for the sun to warm things up a bit. Just before 9 am we were all secured and ready to hit the road. No real hurry only 179 miles to do on the interstate. No need to take the back roads we have toured this area many times.
It was a perfect travel day, sunshine, blue skies, not too warm or cold and no wind.
179 miles today
across the bridge by Mobile Alabama
Tunnel under Mobile
Stopped for fuel at the Flying J in Moss Point Mississippi, good deal for gas here , really love the gas prices! $2.52 a gallon and with a 15% exchange rate only .76.9 cents a litre compared to $1.10 a litre in Ontario. We saved over $65.00 on this fill up alone, almost like we are being paid to be here in the USA.
Carried on down the road travelling over the swamps to Louisiana.
Gonna be here for about a week so stopped into the wonderful Visitor centre.
Back onto I-10 for a while, love the lane markings so you know what lane to be in. We taking I-12 so in the middle lane.
Arrived at Robert LA. about 12:30 another membership park we have been to a few times before. Nice park, only $10.00 a night with full hookups and free wifi to. This is a busy weekend here lots going on. Family and kids stuff but no problem they will all be gone tomorrow after noon. Veterans day weekend with nonstop activities.
Wagon ride and sign along
we snagged a nice large corner site,
far enough away so not too bad
Got in a few walkabouts to check things out after we got set up.
baseball going on
too cold for the pool
there was people playing volleyball,
but I missed them
canoe and paddle boats are free too
A huge mini golf tournament going on as well, all free.
playground busy
we had a very nice quiet corner to enjoy our e readers
Now as usual do what I love to do. Cook supper. Tonight a bone in chicken breast and a baked potato.
our Weber Q does the job
Added that to a salad I threw together and we had a wonderful tasty meal.
1/2 of the baked potato and chicken breast
with some hot and spicy salsa
Just love Louisiana and this part of the southern USA, except for the cold damp weather. I don't do cold humidity very well. Too many aches and pains. Dry Arizona is calling us big time.
About 4 days here maybe even see a few new places while we are here.
Thanks for stopping by again hope you had a great day too.

  1. Looks like your weather is very nice. Much nicer than here in Houston.
We really appreciate that markings on the highway also. Wish all the expressways did this.

    1. No plans but we will see. I prefer to cook our own, but something might just catch our fancy, maybe some cajun food.

  3. Out of all that, the thing that stands out to me are the road markings. Such a good idea. It's something that is done throughout the EU, and makes it easier to be in the correct lane if you're coming up to an interchange. No last second scrambling. Wish they'd put it into practise here.

  4. Glad you got such a good deal on your gas, it's wonderful to see prices at that level again. Of course, I have a diesel... :c(

  6. Looks like a nice park for a few days and with this cold snap, I can see why Arizona is calling. I remember that long bridge across the swamp. It's always nice to have you Canadians help our economy and if it's a great deal for you as well, it makes it even better.

  8. Dry Arizona calls us during the wintertime too. Maybe that's why we're all snowbirds and "fly" south for the winter.
