Just a nice relaxing day.

Where are we today ?
Finally we have a day with nobody to visit. Don't get me wrong we love visiting with family but 4 days in a row wears you out a bit. But the weather was not on our side. From 11c (52f) this morning down to 4c (39F) at 6pm. Not really nice for playing outside. So we did other stuff.
Took Suzie for a dentist appointment in New Hamburg, picked up some groceries then back home for a ham salad sandwich and some tasty Ham and Bean soup that I made the other day, perfect for this weather.
Just puttered around for the afternoon, read and compute a bit.
My Family picture from yesterday,
Thanks Christopher!
The weather we had today, overcast, windy and cool, but we are toasty warm inside. Our Mr. Heater propane heater keeps us pretty cozy. Don't need to run the furnace at all. It is loud and not very efficient.
at least we missed the brutal cold and snow
Tonight we decided some spaghetti with rice pasta and a caesar salad would be perfect for a day like this. So whipped that up for our hosts here, just the four of us, nice to spend time with Suzie's brother and S.I.L. Sam.
Hit the spot tonight we can relax now.
So peaceful and quiet here, right up our alley.
Glad you could stop by for a bit of a visit, hope ya'll had a great day too.

  1. I feel with you. 4 in a row is a bit on the strenuous side!
Agree, nothing is better to combat cold weather than a nice hot soup.

  2. We'll be heading to "family time" soon. I love it... seeing loved ones once or twice a year is kinda hard. But... like you we eat hearty meals and talk a lot about those who have passed on... and those who are young and will carry on. I savor these times.... maybe appreciate them even more since they aren't an everyday thing. Looks like you two are still traveling in style and eatin' good!

  5. It's nice to have a little bit of both. It's great to spend time with family and friends and then it's great to have some alone time before you do it again.

  6. If it was not for weather, we would often have little to chat about. Keeping warm and doing other indoor simple things is not a bad thing either. Plus....it seems you needed a rest from all that family visiting and eating.
