Where are we today ?
Happy Easter
Its is Good Friday and a holiday here in Ontario and most of Canada as well as 12 US states. Government offices, and most local businesses are closed. As well as on easter Sunday.A comfy night again and this morning we are leaving Suzie's Mom and Dad's place moving over to Suzie's brothers for a few days. Only 10 minutes down the road a bit more room here.
10 minute drive and all set up in 20 minutes satellite dish too |
It is so nice to get together and catchup with each other the few times a year that we can get together and enjoy a wonderful homemade meal.
Egg decorating |
we had a huge spread of food |
Bone in ham, (homemade mustard), sauerkraut, taters, salads, easter egg, oh soo good |
but then we had to have desert, cheese cake, trifle, cookies, fruits, rice crispy squares |
a couple here |
searching, filling their bags |
Rice crispy sculpture and fresh tulips |
very nice handmade quilt |
As the afternoon wound down it was time to head back home with a couple of huge donated hambones (can't waste these), I boiled them up for a nice broth to make a large pot of bean soup in the morning.
Thanks Earlus and Delores for hosting this wonderful family Easter dinner, it was so nice to see everyone again! We still have 3 more family get togethers to go yet this weekend.
Want to thank you for dropping by today and joining us. Hope that your Easter weekend is as wonderful as ours.

ReplyDeleteThank you same to you guys too!
DeleteHave a Happy Easter! That's an amazing quilt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob, so many hours into the fine cross-stitching, a real piece of art .
DeleteLove the quilt! Funny that you wrote about Good Friday. We were on the road today and noticed it was packed. Then, it dawned on me that probably some may have a holiday. We used to get it off but I wasn't sure if it was still observed as a holiday anymore. The holiday varied according to when and where you worked or went to school. I especially was surprised to find out that Canada celebrated it. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteTraffic will be very busy this weekend for the holidays. Lots of family gatherings everywhere.
DeleteI love those family get togethers.... whether it's your family or mine.... just wonderful. That quilt is beautiful... but oh, my goodness... all that food! Happy Easter... looks like the Easter Bunny found you already!
ReplyDeleteAll the food and its not over yet for us. Good times yes.
DeleteWhat a wonderful day of family time! Looks like everyone had a nice time and had lots to fill their tummies! The quilt is beautiful. I used to cross stitch a lot so I know how much work went into a piece like that!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter George and Suzi!

ReplyDeleteThree more dinners like that and you'll be needing to let the belt out on your pants.
Be Safe and Enjoy the time with Family!
It's about time.
Thanks will be feeding our faces as we go. Gotta eat, just not too much thats all. Hardly ever eat desert.
DeleteGreat family visit & dinner. Good idea - not surprising - that you would take and boil those ham bones for soup. Easy on the diet with the othecEaster meals to come.
ReplyDeleteI love making soup,so nice to have in the cooler temperatures.
DeleteWhat a great time visiting with family, and this is only round one.
ReplyDeleteMore visiting and fun family time is so much fun.
DeleteNow that is the way to spend a holiday. Happy Easter. I'm looking forward to our ham dinner on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteA ham dinner is good any time, especially for family gatherings.
