Where are we today ?
We had a wonderful nights sleep at the Walmart in Midland Texas. Mind you we are full time rv'ers. And stay at many different places. We love the peace and quiet but can tune out the noise that may surround us, not something that every body can do. Actually it was so hot at 8.pm (90f) we had to fire up our genny and the one a/c to for about an hour to cool things down bit. Think this the first time we have had to do this!
Heading on down the road this morning about 7:30 am only 280 miles to travel. Some interstate and some back roads was a great travel day again.
280 miles today |
I had lived on Main street in the beaches in Toronto for a year right across the street from the fire hall. You can tune out anything you want.
Heading on down the road past all the oil well pumps, tanker trucks along the interstate is really amazing. So much money is being made here and the vast waste land that you see, is unreal !
oil refineries and oil wells verywhere |
Destination Tres Rio's resort in Glen Rose Texas (whenever we get there) , another membership park where we will hang out and relax for 4 nights, (at least thats the plan). This time $10.00 a night with full hookups.
We checked in here shortly after 1 pm, and all set up by 2 o'clock. Relaxed with our books for a while and enjoyed a nice "Happy Hour" with our good friends Rob, Pat and Lady Girl from Ontario, they are here for 2 weeks.
we are enjoying this hot weather today again |
nice juicy chops |
sure hit the spot and even had leftovers |
The weather is being good to us so far, so we will enjoy it while we can.
Thanks for stopping on by for a peak, hope you are doing wonderful too.

Looks like there are a lot of we Snow Bird heading or will soon be heading back to our Canadian Nests. We've chosen a more northerly route home this year with the idea of seeing some new scenery here in the Southwest along the way. Sounds mighty hot where your at. That would be a bit much for us..
ReplyDeleteWe both really enjoy the heat it will be cool soon enough, and enjoy the drive along this route, We have never headed home this way so is almost new scenery.
DeleteI'm not that familiar with the membership camping organizations, any tips or suggestions? Coast to coast looks like it has possibilities, is that what you are using?
ReplyDeleteWe are using Coast to Coast here, and works great we also have Adventure outdoor resorts and Resorts of destinction. all work great for us. Would take a long time to explain them all. For us being fulltime we use membership parks pretty well exclusively and saves us a lot of money. Advantages, cheap camping, disadvantages, the parks are not always where you want to go. Mind you we have access to around 700 parks in North America.
DeleteThanks, I'll look into it some more.
DeleteRoger , send me an email and I will reply with much more. info
DeleteWe can pretty much tune out most road noises too. We just imagine it's the ocean. Enjoy your time at Glen Rose!
ReplyDeleteIt just becomes what I call "white noise", We will enjoy our short stay here.
DeleteThe trek towards Ontario continues. Those temperatures you are in are incredibly hot. Good thing for A/C though. Continue good travels as you move eastward and northward.
ReplyDeleteWe are enjoying it, but will cool down too soon for our liking.
DeleteSafe travels. Enjoy the warmth as long as u can.
ReplyDeleteThank we are doing that.
Delete"Actually it was so hot at 8.pm (90f) we had to fire up our genny and the one a/c to for about an hour to cool things down bit. Think this the first time we have had to do this!"
ReplyDeleteThe opposite happened to me as I got farther East and North - to get additional HEAT !!
We will be there soon enough, hopefully you can warm things up for us.
DeleteFour days should give those Northern temps enough time to melt another inch or two of snow.
ReplyDeleteWe still have time, so will just take it easy for a while.
DeleteTexas seems to have had a cool winter but it's nice that your're getting such hot weather before returning to the ice box of Ontario.
ReplyDeleteWe are enjoying this hot spell, hopefully will warm up by the time we get there.
DeleteYou made good time again. Enjoy the heat, it is still cool in Ontario.
ReplyDeleteWe will enjoy it as long as possible.
ReplyDeleteTexas is sooo big. The heat will soon be gone as you travel farther north.
ReplyDeleteEverything in Texas is big. We hope to bring some heat north with us.
Deletewe also are enroute parked up in VA visiting our daughter and SIL for a few days..monitoring the weather back home..not looking good
ReplyDeleteSafe Travels
Take your time and enjoy the visit, still too miserable back home.
DeleteVada in dublin tx...Hope you enjoy your stay in our state..Do you marinate those chops before grilling? I have a fifteen year old grandson living with me that wants MEAT!
ReplyDeleteHello again.
DeleteJust a but of oil on the chops, and a chicken spice. The trick with pork is to not overcook it because it will get tough.
