Where are we today ?
Flying J Indianapolis, Indiana.
Up early this morning and just puttering around, coffee's and walkabouts no real rush. Heading for the Flying J in Indianapolis, they have a few nice rv parking spots, away from the trucks and the pumps.

saw a robin this morning on my walkabout |
We all secured and pulling out at 8:40 am after saying so long to our friends here. Perfect driving day, sunshine and warm, shorts and t shirts. Just dawdling along, stopped at a few rest areas to stretch and fuelled up at the Flying J in Effingham Il. Right a lunch time, so a nice treat for ourselves, 2 large fresh pizza slices $5.00 for both, (good deal) probably our last until next winter.

323 miles today |
Then just carried on down the road with very little traffic and just a few slight wind gusts here and there. We forgot all about the time zone change until we got to Indiana, so instead of arriving at 3:30pm it was actually 4:30. Now at least we are in the same time zone as Ontario now.

this guy in front of us had a whole lawn on his trailer |
Found our perfect parking spot again here at the Flying J, away from the pumps and the trucks. A walkabout here then fired up our propane oven to heat up a spaghetti casserole I prepared last week and froze.
Then while the oven was, on baked a up a small package of Pillsbury biscuits to go with it.
Managed to read for a bit and check emails. Windows open and nice breeze but still in the high 70's at 6:30pm, love it. Down to 48f tonight great for sleeping.

our perfect parking spot |
|
the trucks are very far away |
Soon supper was done and really hit the spot, sure beats, any restaurant food by a long shot. Oh, and very inexpensive.

hot fresh and tasty |
That was our perfect travel day, no need to rush, lets relax for the night, then down the road a bit tomorrow and we will hang out for a few more days at a nice spot in Ohio, before heading into the "Great White North" .
Thanks for stopping on by to see where we are, enjoying this great rv lifestyle. Always new places (or even a few repeats that we enjoy) and even some new faces, never know who we meet on the road.

Good to hear that the weather is nice enough for shorts and t-shirts. We'll be heading that way in a couple of weeks and have been hoping for SPRING!. It was someplace just west of Indianapolis that we stopped at a Walmart.. just for lunch and to shop... and Security came out and told us we couldn't stay the night (which we hadn't planned to do), but, not only that, couldn't park there for more than an hour or some such nonsense. Needless to say, we didn't even go in the store... we turned the key on in the rig and moved out quickly. Will say that in all our years of traveling, that was the only really rude encounter we've had. Glad your Flying J experience is pleasant.
ReplyDeleteToo bad about that Walmart, we only stop there if we are parking for the night, but do phone ahead to see if its allowed.
DeleteThis Flying J is pretty decent, better than most for Rv's.
We found that one time. It was due t the Wal Mart being in a shopping center that housed other businesses and Wal Mart did not own the ground.
DeleteIf you keep traveling as fast as you are you'll be home earlier than you thought.
ReplyDeleteWe finally got some of that warmth that you've been enjoying.
We'll be dragging our feet before crossing the border to Ontario.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
We have a nice spot to stay for our final days here.
DeleteAt least you're still in the warm weather. I agree that you need to drag your feet just a tad. No sense in crossing that border any sooner than you need to.
ReplyDeleteThats about right, still have some more sunshine to enjoy.
DeleteYou are getting very close to home!
ReplyDeleteYep then we hang out in Ohio for a few more days.
DeleteHey George and Suzie! We have had 3 warm days here so far in London, On, with it lasting for the weekend. It's amazing how warm 14C feels! Hope it sticks around so your first steps into the north is not frightful! Safe travels as always.
ReplyDeleteIt is waring up nicely there and most of the snow is gone, the most we can hope for at this time of year.
DeleteIt is amazing how good Flying J's pizza is. We get it all the time.
ReplyDeleteBetter just make it a few days in Ohio. They are calling for rain mixed with SNOW showers for Wednesday. Egads...when will this winter end?
Thats our Plan, back to Ontario for the snow :(
DeleteTo find good weather is bonus. Continued safe travels as you move further north.
ReplyDeleteYep we getting lucky so far!
DeleteYou need to move Canada just a bit further south. You are so close to two of our daughters. Both have homes in the historic districts of Indianapolis. Whaaaa.... I want to see them..... Have a great time in Ohio.
ReplyDeleteA bit further south would be just wonderful!
