Where are we today ?
Very cool again this morning but great for sleeping, gonna warm up for the weekend thou, looking forward to it.
Putter around a bit this morning with a walkabout then secure our coach for the long trip today. 25 miles down the road towards Norwich to visit some friends for a couple days, we have not seen them for a while, Christine and Bill. Suzie and Chris were farm neighbors when they were growing up so their friendship goes back a long way.
Did not even hook up the car, she wanted to go for a drive and just follow me down the road. A nice country drive on a sunny day.

On the way here we passed a lot of tobacco farms and ginseng farms as well such nice farm country here.

We arrived there before noon a quick setup and visit with Chris for a while, tour their house and check out all the work they have done here in the last two years. A very nice place but a lot of maintenance.
Bill got home and we relaxed on their deck around the pool, chat and catchup with lots of news and family stuff.

Christine had prepared a wonderful tasty pork roast in the slow cooker, mashed potatoes, fresh green and yellow beans and beets all from her garden. Once again no cooking for me tonight, my turn tomorrow.

Amazing how much conversation can carry on after a couple years on not getting together. The day just flew on by. Oh and after a bit we had an awesome blueberry cheesecake for desert.
|
excellent cheesecake too |
Not it getting dark and cooler too, so time to call it a day. So nice to get together with friends and do some catching up. We still have tomorrow too.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you are enjoying this warmer weather too.

Great day! Those fresh veggies looked yummy! Glad you had a day off!
ReplyDeleteYummy it was too.
DeleteSome good looking food there for sure! We moved today too. Not very far. It probably would have taken longer to hook up the car than to just there.
ReplyDeleteWhen we are not moving far we do the same thing.
DeleteYou do seem to find all the places with the swimming pools! Man, that's a lotta driving. Best be careful. *snort*
ReplyDeleteCuriously enough, just saw a picture of one of my "pub buddies" taken in Ireland. But, the one over yonder.
We choose our friends carefully, lol....
DeleteNo pubs in this Scotland.
Nice day and that Blueberry Cheesecake looked terrific!
ReplyDeleteRick thought of you when I took the picture.
DeleteSounds like you have been having a cool, wet summer for the most part this year. Oh well, you will be heading south soon enough.
ReplyDeleteThat cheese cake looks absolutely delicious!

It was so good but this one was not gluten free.
DeleteAnother lovely place to stop and visit. Almost not worth hooking up for 25 miles.
ReplyDeleteWorked out good for us, just a nice country drive.
