Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
since August 2006
Well today we leave the BLM desert camping, no rush just a leisurely morning. Finish securing the coach and by 9:30 am we drive to the dump station about 2 miles down the road. Now in this area we noticed a few rvs set up for a while, small communities, with added tent rooms. Pretty good deal when they can camp here for $180.00 for six months.

lots rv's |
After the dump station into town to top up our propane tank then, fuel the coach at the Pilot, they have cheapest gas ($2.75 gal = .73cents a litre) and its a busy place. Everybody is fueling up trucks, rv's, cars, atvs, motorcycles and even a forklift! Fuel is about .50 cents a gallon cheaper here than in California so we may as well top up now.

After all this running around in Quartzsite we hit the road about 11:00 am heading west on I-10 towards Los Angeles, but we are only going to Ehrenburg Arizona.

nice drive. |
It was a nice drive and felt good to get on the road again if only for a few minutes. We arrived at the campground Colorado River Oasis at 11:25 am.

rv resort |
This is a full service resort with nice gravel lots, irrigated trees, a cement patio, warm pool 88f and hot tub 104f, membership camping so only $10.00 a night, we will be here for a week. We set up camp and had lunch, Suzie sat in the shade with a book (too hot in the sun). While she took care of the camp I made a quick trip across the Colorado River into Blythe California (the time there is one hour earlier) to Albertsons grocery store to pick up some pork back ribs that were on sale, for supper.

Now just relaxing and enjoying the hot afternoon shade with a good book, and a walkabout its soon time for supper. So in our pressure cooker I prepared the ribs with spices and sauerkraut, for 18 minutes then on the BBQ to baste with a tasty sticky sauce for extremely tasty, fall-off-the-bone ribs with sauerkraut, broccoli and baked sweet potato.

yummy ribs |
By the time we finished supper, chatting and the dishes its 8:00 pm, we turn on the tv for a show then the day is done, time flies when you're having fun. Lets see what tomorrow brings.
