Wow the rain has stopped the skies have cleared and the sun is shining, we almost forgot how nice it is here. Things are starting to dry out and everything just feel great! We can see snow in the distance, thats close enough for us.
The two pictures below were taken from the same place, first one tuesday 2nd one this morning, beautiful!!!

We puttered about this morning chatting with the neighbours Bill and Donna from Saskatchenwan, and a walkabout, everybody was out and about enjoying the sunshine. We had an early lunch and decided to go to downtown Palm Springs and walk along the
Walk of Stars. We left the resort and along Dillon with lots of evidence of the rains and mud on the roads. Mostly dried up and cleared away but passable. South on Palm drive we sat in traffic for a bit only to find out the Gene Autry Way was closed due to mud damage. The only way to go was to turn away from Palm Springs on I-10 for about 7 miles. We turned off here but now we have about 20 miles to travel thru the city to get to Palm Canyon Drive, there was so much traffic because of road closures that we decided to go back west on I-10 to Indian Canyon Drive and right into Palm Springs. This looked good until we find out that this road is closed as well. So after a nice drive on a sunny day for about 90 minutes looking at storm damage and road closures we returned home. Maybe try another day.
Now the bonus here was the sun still shining and we were able to sit out and enjoy reading a book for a while. Then as things began to cool down inside we go and I chopped and chopped, some meat , veggies and spices. This was cozy with our Christmas tree lit up and the yule log crackling away on tv just like our own fireplace. With the food prep done it was just a quick matter of stir frying our chinese style supper of chicken fried rice, and mushroom egg foo young with lots fresh mushrooms, bean sprouts, veggies and water chestnuts. This took care of another craving, then chat for a while in front of the fire and a bit of tv before calling it a night.
