New Mac Book, wonderful warm weather and a very tasty supper,

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another very warm night for sleeping but once again our fantastic fan kept a nice breeze coming in across our bed.
After coffees and computing this morning. I took a nice country drive into Plattsville, chat with the guys at Pettigrew's garage for a few minutes.
love these back roads around here
Then home to pick up Suzie. Headed into the Apple Store in Waterloo to pick up my new Mac Book Air. My old Mac Book pro is 10 years old and has a few issues that are really not fixable. but it still works. So this is the time to replace it. Before we head south. It has worked seamlessly for me over the years, and I do love my Mac book. This new one is thinner and much faster than the old one with 512 GB sold state drive. Plus I can see the letters on the key board on the new one (other key board worn out) my touch pad works (love the touch pad on a mac) and is much lighter a even thinner.
the Apple store in Waterloo
busy as always.
In no time I had my new computer and can take it home to set up, The Apple system is very easy , so I just let it do it's thing.
old one on  the left new Mac Book air on the right
Did  a few things to  start the process and hooked up my time machine backup and let it do what it needs to do, Just walkaway it eventually should be just like new again.
Then we sat outside to enjoy our e-readers for a while.
so quiet and peaceful here in the country
I finally managed to finish this 5 book box set I got from Croft and really loved every one of these books. by Scott Pratt. Joe Dillard an amazing character in this series. Thanks Croft !
Looking at my home page on my Kobo I have read 83 books and 1;458 hours of reading. Wow, I am really impressed that I have read so much.
Stats  are right here
Another page turner with Stone Barrington,I do read once in while
A bit later Sandy dropped by with her grands for a visit. And chat for a while.
drive their gator here just because they can
they even have a trailer
coming for  visit
Soon time for Supper, Sandy heated up some wonderful rolled ribs they had with sage stuffing, I did not make them but they were pretty close to my recipe as Suzie noticed.
love rolled ribs
I made a salad and Sandy boiled few small taters and veggies, A very tasty and easy supper tonight.
now this was so tasty we enjoyed it all
Supper all done and we back home outside under our awning on a still warm evening, Finish this blog posting outside and some more reading , just because we can, No need to compute inside when the outside weather is so nice.
There ya go another nice day getting things taken care of and a tasty meal to wrap things up.
Thanks for dropping in and hope y'all had a great day as well.

  4. LOVE my MacBook Pro. Aren't they just amazing? I'm back in the dark ages with Yosemite OS ... VERY outdated, but there's a good reason. Unfortunately, my choice now is get a new one or go to the cloud. Let us know how yours work out.

  5. Glad you're happy with your new MacBook, time to move on for sure after 10 years. It will be nice to see the letters again!
Those grandchildren need to put their seat belts on when riding in the Gator. :) Good think to learn now.
Nice that they come for a visit at your site.

  7. The new 'puter will be great for keeping up your daily blog, especially once you are back on the road. I've been thinking about replacing my almost-new Asus with something lighter, faster and more cloud oriented, but it's hard to part with something that still works for most things. I'm sure you'll be glad you made the choice.

  10. That is a lot of reading, good for you guys! We never seem to have much time for that, we always seem busy with other things. We always try and read at night though but we are still doing it the old fashion way with an actual book. Maybe one day we will gravitate to and electronic reader, for now we are happy with our books.

    1. That amount of reading is nothing compared to Suzie ,she reads a book everyday or 2/ The e-readers work really well for us. easy to hold (my arthritis makes it hard to hold a book) and no storage problem for the 3500 books we carry.
I do manage to keep busy doing things that i enjoy as well, reading is Suzie's passion.
