Where are we today ?
After my early morning cruise, back to the house in New Hamburg and continue the simple process of making homemade chicken noodle soup. Not great weather today, cool and windy, just above freezing. After we were done our chicken diner on the Weber Q last night I deboned the rest of the chicken and boiled the carcass for an hour or so. Drained through a colander and after it cooled set the broth in the fridge. Still have enough chicken for Suzie's chicken sandwiches as well.
This morning scooped off the excess fat and boiled the broth down adding some onions, celery, a spoon full of left over mashed taters, a slice of sweet potato, frozen mixed veggies, and a bit more chicken too. Once reduced I added a few more spices and broad egg noodles (my favorite). Once the noodles were done we had a very hearty and tasty chicken noodle soup for lunch, for a day or so. While I made the soup Suzie purged more things, sorting etc.. Then we enjoyed a tasty bowl of chicken noodle soup.
Nothing like homemade chicken noodle soup, especially on a cool damp day |
Errands done then back home to whip up supper. Tonight, Maple Mustard salmon, click here or check the top my right sidebar for the recipe. Another quick and easy meal, also very tasty too.
right out of the oven, smells wonderful! |
soo tasty |
Now the weather guessers were right said snow fluffies, today. And guess what? Right after supper almost looks like a blizzard out the back deck. Cold, blowing and not really nice. But the bonus is not cold enough to stay on the ground for long and gonna get warmer soon.
You can see that the snow on the ground is gone a grass getting green so there is hope , just around the corner.
Glad once again for your visit, and hope your spring weather was better than ours. Heck we could have it a lots worse, so not really complaining, just telling it like it is.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this past Winter.
Yes, it does look like there is hope! That salad with salmon looked delicious and so did the soup.
ReplyDeletePretty tasty it was wish you were here???
DeleteThere is hope always.
I haven't seen snow flurries in years. I lived half my life in PA where it did snow and now I live near the Gulf coast of Texas where it very rarely snows.
ReplyDeleteNow thats the life no snow!
DeleteGood looking dishes.
ReplyDeleteHere is hoping that it's all gone before we get there.
