Where are we today ?
Monday morning and it is a wonderful day. But heard on the news this morning about the
St. Jacobs Market, mom and I were just there this past Saturday. I have been going to this excellent Market since the early 70's when it was first established and it has grown in leaps and bounds. But early this morning it was destroyed by fire. You can read about it in one of the news websites
HERE.

nothing left |
The cause has not yet been established, but at least we heard nobody was injured (a good thing!)
For today Suzie headed up to New Hamburg to help many family members remove stuff from her Grammas retirement home and store in her mom and dad's garage for the time being. I took our laundry to the laundrymat in town and got all that done. Back home put some stuff away and did some house cleaning. Then my ma called and came out here for a visit and a coffee, we had a very nice visit.
After ma left I puttered around some more, had my shower and filled our fresh water tank, then even found a few minutes to read for a while. Got in my mind to bake a few cornmeal muffins for supper, Suzie called on her way home from the Stratford hospital with her mom.

Suzie on her way home so I fired up our Weber Q 100 to grill a couple
Cedar Bay Cedar Plank Salmon for supper. (Sugar and Spice, very tasty). I also whipped up a rice pilaf and tossed salad to round off the meal.

almost done |
We chatted for a bit before supper to catch up with each other's day then settled in to enjoy a very tasty meal.

Now we have had another busy day and will see what tomorrow brings.
Everybody here is doing about the same (awesome), we are all upright and breathing, what more can we ask for?
Thanks for stopping by for a visit, we do enjoy your company.

Oh what a tragedy. It looked like a beautiful place. Thank goodness no one was hurt.
ReplyDeleteIt was terrible, but am sure it will be rebuild, bigger and better.
DeleteWhat a shame about the fire. I love cornmeal muffins hot out of the oven.

DeleteThat was sure some fire! I bet it did not take long to burn...
ReplyDeleteIt did burn very quickly.
DeleteSorry to hear about the fire. That was huge! I had salmon tonight too ... it was wild king salmon ... awesome! We've used a lot of cedar planks for salmon in the past. Love the taste. Well, I love the taste of salmon period!
ReplyDeleteYes sir love the taste of salmon done anyway.
DeleteSad to see that beautiful market place burn like that. The muffins you baked sure looked good and the Salmon dinner for sure would be one of my favorites. I have looked and looked for that planked Salmon in Cali with no luck. We passed Pilot Knob of the 8 on Saturday and thought of you guys, 40c as we past by.
ReplyDeleteWe plan to be in that area this winter where are you guys heading?
