A homemade soup kinda day then lots more fresh air to keep us healthy.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Weather today about the same as yesterday, overcast , a cool breeze got up to 64 F (17c) would have been pretty nice if we had some sunshine, nadda. But,, no complaints here. We just added an extra layer or two and enjoyed the fresh air and some exercise outside most of the day.
Because of this cool weather I pulled some chicken bones and leftover cooked chicken out of the freezer and whipped up a nice pot of homemade chicken noodle soup, for our lunches. After a couple of nice refreshing morning walkabouts.
makes our house smell yummy
While the broth was simmering (Suzie kept an eye on it) I made a quick trip to Strathroy for a few items, then home to finish the soup for a tasty lunch.
perfect day for homemade soup
warmed us up then we can sit outside and read,
Did manage to get a couple of hours of quality reading time outside out of the wind enjoying the fresh air and just being outside. Also a few walkabouts every once in a while to keep limber.
not too windy here , and every once in  while a bit of sunshine
Just after 4 pm good friends pulled into the campground, George and Roseanne. We camped at their place in Lake Havasu last fall and had a fun time there exploring the area, also saw them in Quartzsite AZ as well. So nice to see them again and do some catching up.
Then soon time for supper. Tonight a couple of shrimp burgers that we tried a week or so ago and we both really enjoyed them. As I was making the salad Suzie suggested that I make some Shrimp sauce to go on them ! Now this is the scary part I was just about to ask her if she wanted me to make some. She can read my mind ! Oh my .....
These are excellent
these cook up wonderful on our Weber Q, warmed English muffin
and fresh Asparagus
so tasty, yup
No more sitting outside tonight , a slight drizzle, still overcast and now only 58f. No problem though we gonna have some amazing weather very soon, getting warmer every day, Ya hoo !
Thanks once again for stopping by and joining us .
Where have we been this summer ?

  1. Uh, oh, she's reading your mind? You need to buy her more books for her e-reader. ;c)

    1. Hmm, this is not the first time this has happened either, maybe we have a bluetooth connection?

  2. Always nice to be able to spend time outside even if you do need a jacket.
We tried your rib recipe on Sunday for dinner. Tom slow cooked them for a couple of hours then did the barbecue sauce slather and they were fall off the bone delicious. Thank you for sharing that recipe.

    1. The weather not too bad at least it's not snowing !
Glad you enjoyed the ribs, The sauerkraut does add a special flavour, I like then much better than boiling them, the brown sugar makes the sauce sticky, finger licking good.

  3. Summer arrives Wednesday, today! Yay! Enjoy!

  4. Shrimp sauce? Is that your version of cocktail sauce? We bring back several kilos of Mexican shrimp when we go, always looking for a new recipe for them, but did not see this in your folder. If it's not a secret sauce, can you share? Thanks!

    1. No problem Jeff, not a secret, shrimp sauce, cocktail sauce I have always made my own, pretty easy. some ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice and tobasco sauce to taste, made it for years in my restaurant , simple easy quick and make as spicy as you like.

We love it when you take the time to drop us a line.
